Ive been in the dodge city/ garden city area on a travel assignment with work for the last 6 months. A few weeks into my time here I was at another well known restaurant in Dodge city and was speaking to a guest from Colorado who flies in every month for a week for the last 6 or more years. I told him I was looking for the best cooked steak no matter the price range. He told me that it would be at the prime on the nine restaurant. I then was in Garden city for the past 6 months and I have eaten at every restaurant that serves steak. I am 3 weeks from leaving southwest Kansas and finally decided to take my wife on a date and try out the Prime on the 9 restaurant for Dinner. Hands down the 20 oz rib-eye is the best cooked ribeye in this area. The atmosphere was great for a date and the rest of the food we ordered was excellent. Im not comparing the restaurant to a Ruth chris, St . Emilion, Silver Fox, Del Frisco, or others in that echelon, but to all other restaurants here in this area of the kansas beef feed lot country. Although by steak alone, it is a contender in its own right. Thanks to Kevin, the manager, for a great experience! Very professional and kind! Thank you

This place came highly recommended.I am worried about the people of dodge cities taste buds. Over priced. Undercooked. The poke bowl was and arugula salad with poor tasting dirty salmon laid on top. Our chicken wings were chicken nuggets, drowned in Chicken wing sauce. I don’t know and what in the US foods microwave steamtable you guys are doing, but you need to stop. It is a crime to steal peoples money like that Dodge city. You were paying 400 to 500 the cost of what it takes for them to make it. Just because they write chef on the chalkboard Doesn’t mean they are actually a chef. A potato should be cooked all the way through and not crunchy and it should be bigger than a half of a small potato potato. I can pick up french fries from Walmart in a generic brand and still make them taste better. Save your money go to Applebee’s it’s not that great but it’s 1000 times better than this place. Oh, you didn’t fool me with your previous Frozen moose cheesecake nobody should pay more than four dollars for this. Roughly several thousand dollars my husband’s company pays to feed their guys. They will no longer be using you if I have to cater them and drive up from out of town I will. Mr. manager I read your replies back on yelp. A snarky reply with a petty attitude won’t work with me. Your Replies are rude. I know $10,000 is probably not a lot to you guys but at least it can be re routed to another business with customer service. And then, if you had up to 70 guys, then I’m gonna be telling to no longer eat there. It’s gonna add up fast and you’re gonna ask. Why are your revenues down? Stop ordering from US foods and stop microwaving your food and steam tables do it no justice. And you can’t use this is a small town as an excuse. I’m from a town of 635 and I know seven-year-olds that can cook circles around your line cooks

Everything on the menu is fantastic. However, the chicken fried steak is the best you've ever had. Also, you can't go wrong with a steak, the best in town.

This was so disappointing. I ordered 14oz sirloin loaded mashed potatoes and Brussels sprout hash. My husband ordered bourbon bacon burger with fries. We also ordered the stuffed mushroom on Gouda grits. The steak was cooked perfectly but was tough and chewy and no flavor to speak of. The mashed potatoes were cold(when the blob of butter on top doesn’t melt….. the hash was too hot spicey and peppery to eat for me. The burger had no bourbon flavor. His fries were fine but the 1.50 upcharge for a tiny side of ranch was ridiculous as was the 4$ up charge for the loaded mash potatoes. Would never go back. Would not recommend. However. We liked the appetizer but could have used a little more sauce on top.

Being a city girl born and raised i've eaten at many steak houses in larger cities (ex. Houston, Phoenix etc.) most of the time the prices are pretty drastically expensive. Here, i feel that the prices are more reasonable. $37 for a 6oz filet mignon which is usually $55 minimum in my vast experience of ordering steak. We arrived a little after 5pm and were seated immediately. As time went on it got busier but not crazy. Our server, which i wish i remembered his name to give credit to, was AMAZING. He was a young gentleman wearing earrings who looked in his early 20's. He really made the experience much more than average. He definitely deserves praise from management and i really hope that happens for him. Me and my husband already plan on coming back while we are still in town for a short period to try a few other things on the menu that looked appealing to us.

We are from Texas and we like to brag about our steaks. That being said the ribeye steak that I had here was hands down one of the bes I've ever eaten, if not THE best I've ever had.

This is by far the best restaurant in SW Kansas and one of the best steakhouses you will ever eat at. It has a staff you would expect in a much larger city. We eat at Prime on the Nine at least 6 times a year. The Ribeye steak is fantastic and the drinks are top notch. It is our favorite restaurant to enjoy a celebration dinner of any kind. I highly recommend Prime on the Nine.

Food is very Simple tasting. I expected better taste and bigger portions because of the cost. Only plus is their great view.
