Service was pretty bad, but that usually doesn't bother me too much. The food tasted ok but my bowl was missing an ingredient (hummus) and was about the size of a side order, not an $11.79 + tax lunch entree. So pretty disappointed by the meal.

What a train wreck! I feel for the staff having to work with no evidence of any competent leadership. After standing in line we were asked to order at the kiosk. The kiosk shows no coffee or soft drinks in inventory. Stand in line again to be told that they have a stash of cups behind the counter. Told to finish the bagel order at the kiosk, then stand in line again to get drunks. Surely there is a better way to run this place! Where is the manager??

There was only one cashier and she was helping a woman with a very large order. A kitchen guy came out to help, but didn't know how to make a drink. He told the man who appeared to be the manager several times and eventually the manager said it would have to wait because he was working on a catering order. We could all clearly hear this conversation. The woman had ordered ahead as well. It wasn't until I turned to the woman and said it was incredibly rude of the manager to not help you that he finally helped. I personally only wanted one bagel and finally ended up leaving my cash on the counter for the bagel because I needed to leave. The staff appeared to want to help, but didn't know how and the manager wasn't offering much direction.

Ordered delivery for 12:30 for a work meeting. Two people's orders were not delivered. Called the restaurant told them what was missing. I was told the missing items would be delivered at 1:05. They did not get here until 1:43. One was a pizza which was cold. It would have been nice if they could have at least heated it up before giving to the delivery driver. Instead it sat out for an hour. Was told my the manager they would refund the full order, which is why I gave two stars. But we will rethink where we order lunch from for our work meeting.

I ordered coffee and tea to be delivered for a conference on the UMKC campus. They said they would have it there at 7:45am. At 8:00am I called and I asked where the coffee is and they said that they do not not know where their driver is. I asked when I can expect to have the order delivered; the answer was "no idea". I sent somebody to drive there and pick it up. She had to wait 10 minutes there to even get the order handed to her . Absolutely no apology. When my helper came with the order (at 8:30am), I noticed that there was no tea, only coffee. So they could not even get the order right. When I called to express disappointment with how things worked, all I heard from the manager was his frustration over the driver not showing up. Hey, I can understand this. But, Panera, how about showing some concern for the inconvenience caused to me? If your driver does not show up, don't you at least think that you should call people to let them know and try to work something else out? Up to that point, I had not heard a single word of apology. I mentioned that, and the manager said he is sorry (but only after I mentioned being shocked by the lack of any apology), and that was pretty much it. For comparison, I had coffee delivered the previous day by the campus catering company. They were late, too. But, as soon as they realized they would be late, they called me, they apologized, and they offered 50% discount on the order. It looks like this Panera location did not learn how to handle situations like this professionally. Until they learn, beware of placing orders that need to be delivered timely.

Hazelnut coffee served at the perfect sipping temperature on a very chilly Kansas City afternoon. I'll probably indulge myself in chicken and rice soup. Because I can't stop smelling it right now! I love love love this company. Always a good time to stop in.

This is the worst Panera I have very had. The lines are long, the staff is slow. That's not what I'm complaining about though. My staff and I went in to have breakfast and my team members sandwich was wrong. Now, keep in mind, my team member is very sweet and timid. She went to the front to tell them that she believed her sandwich was wrong. They told her it was not so she said OK and came back to the table. As she was about to bite into it and eat it anyways, a man who worked there came over to the table, grabbed the box her sandwich was in and scolded her several times to put the sandwich down, to drop it. We were all in shock. She placed it in the box and he walked off with it. He later came back with a new one and dropped it on the table and walked away without a word. I have never in my life seen someone so rude and unprofessional, especially to someone so sweet and sensitive. We were all in shock. Needless to say, the hospitality isn't worth giving them another penny of mine. I hope to avoid that people see this review and boycott them as well. Maybe someone higher up will step in and address these MAJOR issues.

If you ever wanted to be yelled yet for no reason, just come here. Their employees do a good job at this. Food is mediocre.

I placed an order on line for the next day pickup. I received an email saying my order was read but when I arrived to pick up my order they weren't open and told me sorry but they can't do my order. The person I talked with said no one had shown up. They credited my card but that didn't help me with no food for my meeting.

This location has been poorly run for some time and I’d previously decided to avoid it and drive the extra distance to the Plaza or PV locations but it was cold this morning and I got lazy, my mistake.Arrived 10 minutes after my food was to be ready (and 30 min after they opened), doors locked. Stood in the cold waiting for someone to let myself and another customer in. Food was not ready. When it was “ready” they were missing two of the four things I order (bagels). Then they forgot to toast them (which was instructed in the online order). Get home and they gave us the wrong cream cheese which was expired anyway so it didn’t really matter.I’d love to say this is the first time or that they literally have an active streak of messing up the orders with us that is nearing the double digit range at this point but I’m done. Never go here you will almost certainly not get the things you ordered.Take the extra 5-10 min to go to PV or Plaza, trust me this place is not worth the frustration.

Panera is our go to always knowing the food will be good, healthy and the location delightful to visit.

Multiple days in a row with no Souflees or coffee. At 8 am. Just now making souflees. Waited for coffee and coffee creamer. Staff took 10 minutes to bring out creamer then stopped filling and answered her phone for a personal call right in front of us. The other staff disappeared with the 4 bagels sitting in the toaster done for 10 minutes before coming to cut them. The two sandwiches were done before the bagels were even toasted and cut. Manager in house watched and did nothing but told us the man working on the sandwiches was working on the bagels… he wasn’t we could see them under the toaster done. Also the only people in the whole place. So sad that the place has gone so down hill in such a nice area because of staff and management.

Stephanie is the best! ( at the Brookside location.) I feel bad cause it's hard for them to get people who want to work and haven't had a supply truck in for 2 weeks.. so they are out of a lot of things.. customers are getting irate! Not her fault!!

I would not recommended this Panera location. Came in and placed an order. Heard my name from a worker and went to get my food and the worker asked why I ordered food when they were closed. I ordered the food a little after 2 and they close at 3. The worker began yelling at me saying she can't take this and got into an argument with a man who I assume was the manager. They argued back and forth about her being clocked out and that she should go home. She kept yelling and the man said he'll get security if she doesn't stop. When I did eventually get my food and escaped to outside the sandwich was a depressing small piece of bread with melted cheese. In short, avoid this place if you don't want to get yelled at and have depressing slice of bread.
