I've tried half the menu and it all has been tasty. The prices are cheap for the amount you get. Most of the meals become two meals for me. The chicken enchiladas are the best I have ever had at a restaurant. The shrimp bowl was cheaper than Chipotle and double the amount of food. Everything is better here than at Pancho's.

Finally got the chance to try Abelardo's and we loved it! Also, we had a great Val Pak coupon from them too.The restaurant itself is surprisingly more roomy than you think and I love the decoration/aesthetics of the place. The menu is massive and has a ton of options including all-day breakfast options! We opted for the birria burrito, potato and egg breakfast burrito, and a side of queso. We also took a small to-go container of their mild and hot salsa options that are available near the soda fountain machine. The hot is significantly spicy but has such great flavor. The birria burrito was delicious, juicy, and was so filling. The breakfast burrito was legit too. The queso was runnier than I usually like but since it was so dang good, I can't complain.Overall, we really liked our trip to Abelardo's and cannot wait to come back. The staff were super friendly and our food was done extremely fast. We really have no complaints and hope this place does very well!

I have been waiting for seventeen years to get a place like this in KC Metro. I haven't had a burrito this good since I lived in California. How do I get so lucky to have this less than 2 miles from my house!? I mean everything about this place is awesome: clean, cheerful atmosphere, super fresh flavorful ingredients, authenticity, friendly staff, and AMAZING food with an AWESOME menu selection. Shawnee friends, please get the word out because I don't want this venue going anywhere!

Authentic Mexican food, some of the best around. Their carne asada burrito has nice chunks of steak instead of ground steak at "P's" over on 87th street. If you get the 2 burrito combo with beans and rice you had better be a big eater or bring friends. It is alot of food. I had Just one burrito with the beans and rice and I have lunch cor tomorrow. It is hidden behind Goodyear in the opposite side of K-7 from Walmart on Johnson drive. The drive thru is handy for grabbing a good meal and reasonable prices.

Impeccably clean and bright space, lovely service, and great food. We got a machaca torta with rice and beans, a carne asàda taco, and churros for dessert. All so good! The salsa arbol has a nice heat.Great authentic Mexican flavors in a casual atmosphere.
