It was fine. We went Friday evening at 6:30pm. Service was quick. Our waitress wasn't super pleasant nor was she rude so no complaints there. The only problem was that the catfish tasted like it had been held in a warmer for about two hours. Everything else was fresh and delicious.

Absolutely terrible. I had a greasy hamburger that was only edible being drowned in catsup and mustard. My husband had a ribeye sandwich which was even worse. The steak was tiny - two small pieces placed on a bun - and only covered 1/2 of the bun. To make matters worse 1/2 of it was gristle. Absolutely horrid. If I am at the stockyard again, I will definitely NOT eat here. Worst food I've had in years.

Walk to the counter, order from the white board on the wall, and you may be rewarded with something far tastier than you’ve had in a while. I was. It was a ham and cheese grilled sandwich. It was a thick slice of cheese and it was delicious. The fries were forgettable. Off to the side was a table full of southern favorite dessert options. Choices included butterscotch or peanut butter pie, apple fried pies and a few cake choices. So if you are tired of franchises, try this.

Oh my goodness! The catfish is to die for. Loved the green beans, and the mashed potatoes too. BUT WHEN I OPENED THE GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE.... I thought I was in HEAVEN! So moist and fluffy and delicious! The women that work there are so hospitable and accommodating; it's really refreshing. And every so often I swing back into the back and say hi to the livestock.

3.5 starsLaura's is tucked away for sure, but once you know, you know. Walk up ordering, be careful on the hours as they change a lot. Catfish meal and two sides were on the specials board. The catfish was seasoned very well it just wasn't a lot of fish in the catfish compared to others close by for the price. Sides were just okay. Hushpuppies were great. The place is dated, but you are not there for the ambiance of the restaurant. I'll have to try again but today was okay.

What a surprise! I found this place on Yelp and was surprised driving up to see that it was a simple cafe at a stockyard. It was very country diner vibe inside but the service and the food were excellent!! My waitress worked her tail off the whole time I was there. She kept a pleasant demeanor and was so helpful. I got the Manhattan and it was phenomenal. Roast beef wrapped by bread and doused in a wonderful brown gravy. The serving was more than adequate. The accompaniment was Cole slaw that was made with that KFC Cole slaw vibe tat I love. Sweet tea was on point. I gave this hard working waitress a good tip as the food and the service were excellent. Don't let the looks of this out of the way diner fool you as it is a hidden gem.

Based on reviews, we decided to try Laura's Stockyard Cafe. Tucked away off the road, this is defiantly a local's cafe. The daily menu is on the board. I had country fried steak gravy mashed potatoes which was absolutely delicious. Good service a very responsible price. A hidden Jewel in BG Recommended!
