“It's hard not to like Anchor grill. It's as "local greasy spoon" as it gets, but it has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Sort of if your Mom and a couple of her friends opened a diner, and you stopped in for dinner. The staff are friendly and polite, and the food is surprisingly solid. If I'm in the Midwest, I have to satisfy my breaded, fried pork tenderloin sandwich craving. Theirs is thin but decent, and you can't beat the price. Cash only. Give it a try. The pancakes look great. If you're not a local, be aware many restaurants here allow you to smoke inside, and this is one of them.“
“Just moved to Covington heard alot about Libby's, so decided to check it out. I will say they have some of the best chicken, was not dry at all like a few other reviews state. I'm a picky eater when it comes to Mac/cheese and mash potatoes. Libby's seems to make both just the way I like 'em, so so good. One of the people that was with me ordered the Charlie Brown, they were not sure if they were gonna like it, well they loved it and will order it again. It is a little pricey but all that we had was um um so good. Oh and our server was AMAZING!(sorry don't remember her name). I would definitely recommend Libby's.? to Libby'sParking: They do have a parking lot for about 15 cars for dine-in but there is plenty of street parking.“
“We had a reservation and we still had to wait about 45 mins, outside of that the experience was great. We had a couple of mimosas out on the patio while we waited and our order was quickly taken once we were seated. The owner was very nice he made rounds throughout the restaurant, greeting people and thanking everyone for coming in. He stopped by our table and brought out a couple of appetizers for us to try for the wait time inconvenience. The entrees were great, I definitely would returnParking: Free parking lot across the street“
“While on spring break from Raleigh, North Carolina, my son and I made it a priority to visit Nolia Kitchen after hearing about it and Chef Jeff Harris' James Beard Semi Finalist. Located in the vibrant Over the Rhine neighborhood, known for its local restaurants and shopping, we planned our early dinner around this exciting hotspot. As we arrived at Nolia around 5pm, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The host was both kind and efficient, while our server impressed us with their sweet demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu. Though we had already perused the menu, our server still took the time to share some additional offerings. With our choices in mind, we placed our orders, which included the following:- Gulf Oysters (6) from both the East and West Coast- Cauliflower- River CatfishTo complement our meal, I indulged in the delightful Goretti Park cocktail. Each dish was served with care and precision. My son particularly enjoyed the East Coast Oysters, while the cauliflower, accompanied by raisins and honey (we asked for it on the side), left a remarkable impression. Personally, my favorite was the catfish, paired with crawfish and grits. The combination of flavors was truly exceptional.During our visit, we were fortunate enough to meet Chef Jeff himself. He graciously shared his vision for the restaurant, adding to the overall amazing experience.Thank you, Chef Jeff Harris and team, for providing us with a memorable dining experience at Nolia Kitchen, worthy of your James Beard recognition.“
“This was our once a month luncheon. I love the decor. It's so bright and welcoming. The food was good. The Grippo Chicken Wings were cooked perfectly. My only concern is when we first arrived, the staff looked at us and didn't say a word. We didn't know if we seated ourselves, or waited to place our orders, or what? After waiting for awhile. A young lady came to the cash register and cashed someone out. She then looked at us. I asked her about the process. She explained and proceeded with taking our orders. Restaurants must understand customer service. A simple hello, "I'll be right with you" would have meant so much. The other concern is; if it is crowded, they only have one ladies toilet. That could be a problem“
“Food was good. Staff didn't make us feel welcomed; we rushed our meal just for this reason. Server wasn't friendly, she never asked if we were ok or needed a refill. Service is just as important as the food. As a visitor to Cincinnati, I doubt we go back when visiting the city again.“
“chicken? unbeatable. drinks? taste like delicious juice. the eagle provides quick and efficient service and a welcoming southern atmosphere. We came in for my friend's birthday and our server, Jamie, was more than accommodating in helping us celebrate! thank you Jamie!!“
“The food is epic. It definitely over delivers. The wings are fantastic, brined, rubbed, smoked and I am assuming fried prior to serving. The flavor is fantastic, even with the tame (by heat) sauces. These are easily on par with Knock Back Nats wings and not as spicy, so they probably appeal to many more.I also had the Smoked and Fried Bologna Sandwich! Epic! Tater tots are really good, and the kids' chicken and waffles were also excellent. We will be back for sure. I suggest you try this place out if you hadn't before. Being inside Alexandria Brewing Company is also a bonus as they have some pretty solid beers as well.Ok we went back on a Saturday. And they definitely need to step up their game in the kitchen. They took orders with buzzers. Why they don't take all orders as they come is beyond me. wouldn't you want to know what's incoming? I don't know. The food was great the first time. We've been waiting 2 hours the 2nd time. Perhaps come on a weeknight and expect slow service.? Not a great 2nd experience.“
“This was my first time ordering here but definitely wont be my last the chicken was perfect down to the season the crunch the juiciness and the spice. I got the fire in the hole sammie and they aint lying when they say its waiver worthy its really hot and i love hot!“
“Very informal restaurant -order at the counter and take food to table. Food was simple, but excellent. Not a lot of food options, but what we did get was VERY good. Ribs and brisket were both excellent. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Many people getting take-out. In warmer weather we would have considered taking the food to a larger outside area.“
“We came in at the end of the night and the staff was so friendly & ready to help. We got our food really quickly and whatever questions/needs we had were promptly addressed and made the whole experience a pleasure. Most restaurants make you feel like you’re holding them up when it’s closing time but this staff welcomed us to enjoy until we were ready to leave. We would definitely come back!“
“TLDR: go here, order everything, have no regrets! We hadn't been since they moved to Newport. The building is an adorable converted home with fun and beautiful decor. The staff is all friendly and attentive. Our server Kelly was fantastic! Everything is priced reasonably, especially considering what a unique and high-quality experience you get.Our food was phenomenal: Eggplant Napoleon, Classic Buttermilk Biscuits, Angry Orchard Cider Onion Soup, Fried Chicken & Waffle, and Voodoo Salmon with Safron Purloo.I went there with my spouse and we ended up taking home 2 biscuits, half of each entree (chicken and salmon), and the table bread. So come hungry and plan to take home lunch for the next day!Biscuits: 4 biscuits. Came with honey, butter, and jam. A southern staple perfectly executed.Eggplant: I will dream about this for years to come. If you have never tried eggplant, this is the fish that will make you a believer. Eggplant was thinly sliced and breaded. Not slimy (if you eat eggpant you know this is always a risk at restaurants). The cheese in between laters tasted like soft seasoned cream cheese. The red sauce was also well seasoned and full of veggies. Mmmmmm.Soup: kind of like a BBQ French onion. These ppl know how to layer flavors so well. Every bite you can identify something new.Chicken & Waffles: the breading on the chicken is devine! There's a reason they're famous for Chicken. Sweet potato Waffle, bacon, pecan butter- what's not to love?Voodoo salmon: nice crispiness on the outside of salmon, but still fell apart wonderfully (how perfectly cooked fish should). Sauce, rice, andouille, crawfish- fancy southern at its finest.Thank you to all the Purple Poulet staff- you are part of something really special!“
“Popular brunch spot on the weekends. We had the pancake tacos and the fried chicken tacos with loaded tots. Everything was delicious! My husband absolutely loved the loaded tots! I only wish the food had come out a little bit hotter. Our service was good. However, the food did take a while. It wasn't a problem for us, but it is something to be aware of if you are on a schedule.“
“The first night we came, it was a wonderful evening being seated in the cozy tea room area, not crowded or cramped feeling. Soft big band jazz playing, clean, pleasant atmosphere with upscale decor with interesting rustic aspects.I had the grilled fish special which was Haddock I believe, and it was so delicious. Wonderful glass of house Cabernet. Amazing waiter, an older gentleman who was so attentive and friendly.Another night we were seated in a larger area filled with customers. It felt a bit too crowded for me, tables too close together but still a nice evening. A booth would have felt a bit more private probably. My salmon harvest salad was yummy. Everyone was happy with their selections but one person felt a little disappointed his was served with rye bread, that was not even toasted, and just looked like generic bread from the grocery.Parking: The parking lot is adjacent to the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: no stairs, ground level“
“While it is not the cheapest option, that is partially because of the freshness of the product. I have had all but the Jalapeno version of their chicken salads and loved every one. The grape dessert is also amazing and I highly recommend it, and my kids love the cookies. My favorite way to eat any of the chicken salads is on the croissant, but my wife likes to eat them with the crackers. Either way is delicious! If you haven't, I recommend trying here for a different take on lunch or dinner!Parking: There is plenty of parking, but sometimes you may have to park further out in the lot.“
“Stumbled on this place by accident and we were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent, try a shared platter to get a variety. Burnt ends are good as well as the pulled pork, brisket, really everything... wings are good just not our favorite but there are a lot of options. you'll be happy if you go here. We will be back soon.“
“Drove in to Ohio from Dallas for a special occasion and stumbled upon this place and I’m so glad we did! We were only in town for a few days and everyday we were there, we made sure to go grab some food from here. I had whiting and wings on the first day, catfish and wings on the second day, on our way back to Dallas we stopped and I got catfish and 2 legs and a wing! The food is so good and is seasoned so well! The dessert is also to die for! We tried sweet potato pie, lemon cake, Oreo cake, and the cheese cake with strawberry swirl ALL of the desserts were YUMMY especially the Oreo cake! I recommend everyone to try this place and if you don’t or haven’t you are missing out for sure! The guys behind the counter is very kind and cool (especially Souhipe)…he noticed that we came to eat 3 days in a row and gave us or last meal for FREE!!! Now that’s customer service right there!“
“The customer service here was top notch for a busy day! All the staff was friendly and worked together to get my lunch out to me fast! I was really impressed with the teamwork at this restaurant. They were wonderful! I thought the chicken salad was ok, I tried the Buffalo Barclay, the Classic Carol, and Fruity Fran. They all needed a little more seasoning so I was glad I brought it home. It was delicious and fresh though!“
“This was my first time visiting. I picked up lunch for my daughter and I treated myself as well. It was ?...I got the scrimp and fries. I've never been a fries kind of person but I ate them...next time I'll just get their jumbo scrimp only cause I do love scrimp...thanks for setting me up for a return trip... Scrimp Here I Come??“
“Great casual semi dive bar feel with excellent food and cocktails. I had the Clockwork Orange ? and my husband had the spicy bloody. For bites we went with the burger and fried chicken sandwich. The side salad dressing was excellent. Love the Covington, KY laidback vibe.“
