I've had less than stellar luck with more traditional Mexican food in Kentucky. And the ones that have had some level of promise have price tags that don't make sense. Don't expect a never ending pile of chips at San Miguel but you should expect some of the best tacos you've had in a very very long time. If you are craving Traditional style with 2 corn tortillas and a pile on onion and cilantro, this is your place. I took a tour of the tacos with chorizo, langua, carnitas, and al pastor. Hoping to find what they were strongest in if I were to come back. I will be back and I'd be thrilled with any of the above. The gf went with a chorizo quesadilla. I was excited because she rarely finishes a plate and that means I get her scraps! The dilla was pretty large but she said she just couldn't stop eating it. I did get a couple bites and it was perfect. I can't wait to go back

Frequent visitor to the area staying at the Marriot Rivercenter. Decided to dodge the fusion joints on the street for something authentic. I travel the world and have decided (IMO) the best food is always in the least flashy places, ie back alleys, market stalls and street vendors. Never satisfied with the food at the trendy joints with $30 margaritas. This is an incredibly good and authentic little taqueria. It's easy to miss if you aren't looking for it, specifically. Wasn't quite certain how to navigate after entering the door...I just made my way up to the counter grabbed a soda from the cooler and ordered with the kind woman at the register. The true test (in my opinion) of a good taqueria is how many options are available (let's say, for a taco) and then how well they execute on those lesser ordered options. Ordered the tacos tripas and they were perfect. Nice and crispy on the outside, but not overdone, seasoned to perfection. Everything's fresh, good salsa, good service and cheap prices. Also it's clean and they took pride in their food. What more could anyone ask of a taqueria? Will be back the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Best Mexican food I've ever tasted! It's a taste explosion and very authentic. You could walk by this place without even knowing it's here but you will be glad you found this place! Wow!

Unless you are part of a Spanish descent, I would not eat here. Not very welcoming, no chips or salsa, no drinks were offered, was told there was no chicken to be served but chicken was in the fajitas and not to mention the food was not worth taking home. I imagine this place will not be here very long.

traveling from Canada and stumbled across this place online, what can I say this is possibly the best taco I have ever had in my life, and this is coming from someone who is picky about tacos, i had the shrimp, the chorizo and the al pastor, none of them disappointed in any way. just to let you know im writing this review a few hours later because I am still thinking about that first bite, i totally recommend this!

Excellent tacos with homemade tortillas. Great authentic taste and some nice tequilas available as well. A cool family run spot.

phone call to place carry out order was confusing. person on the phone seemed as if she never answered a phone before and left me on hold until I called back. I got the steak torta, which was bland and underwhelming. I had to smother it in sauce to make it remotely edible, and even then it was tough. It gave me indigestion deep into the late night to the point of vomiting. I will not be returning

DO NOT USE CARD HERE. Food was good, but I recommend paying cash. After visiting, the next day I noticed a few Amazon charges from the previous day. And the food was the only thing I purchased that day. I disputed them and I'm not 100% sure it came form this restaurant, but just something to be cautious of.
