“While on spring break from Raleigh, North Carolina, my son and I made it a priority to visit Nolia Kitchen after hearing about it and Chef Jeff Harris' James Beard Semi Finalist. Located in the vibrant Over the Rhine neighborhood, known for its local restaurants and shopping, we planned our early dinner around this exciting hotspot. As we arrived at Nolia around 5pm, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The host was both kind and efficient, while our server impressed us with their sweet demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu. Though we had already perused the menu, our server still took the time to share some additional offerings. With our choices in mind, we placed our orders, which included the following:- Gulf Oysters (6) from both the East and West Coast- Cauliflower- River CatfishTo complement our meal, I indulged in the delightful Goretti Park cocktail. Each dish was served with care and precision. My son particularly enjoyed the East Coast Oysters, while the cauliflower, accompanied by raisins and honey (we asked for it on the side), left a remarkable impression. Personally, my favorite was the catfish, paired with crawfish and grits. The combination of flavors was truly exceptional.During our visit, we were fortunate enough to meet Chef Jeff himself. He graciously shared his vision for the restaurant, adding to the overall amazing experience.Thank you, Chef Jeff Harris and team, for providing us with a memorable dining experience at Nolia Kitchen, worthy of your James Beard recognition.“
“We are Sunday Brunch "regulars" because we always have a great dining experience at Tousey House. If there have been any issues at all, they have been taken care of right away in a kind and friendly manner. Joe, James, and the other waiting staff are always friendly and helpful and Marley is a darling hostess. I would recommend Tousey to anyone and would highly suggest you make a reservation in advance for a great dining experience.“
“This super cute black owned spot was everything and more! From placing our order with the courteous young lady at the front, to being smiled at by the cooks in the kitchen, all the way to the young man that brought our food to our table. Outstanding!! All of that and the food was…speechless!!????? I can’t say enough about this great experience! We will definitely be back!“
“Food was good. Staff didn't make us feel welcomed; we rushed our meal just for this reason. Server wasn't friendly, she never asked if we were ok or needed a refill. Service is just as important as the food. As a visitor to Cincinnati, I doubt we go back when visiting the city again.“
“Great casual semi dive bar feel with excellent food and cocktails. I had the Clockwork Orange ? and my husband had the spicy bloody. For bites we went with the burger and fried chicken sandwich. The side salad dressing was excellent. Love the Covington, KY laidback vibe.“
“As you step inside, you're greeted by the cozy yet trendy ambiance, complete with exposed brick walls and rustic décor. The menu boasts a tantalizing array of Southern-inspired dishes, with their signature fried chicken stealing the show. Each crispy, golden piece is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor, paired perfectly with their house-made sides like creamy mac and cheese or tangy coleslaw.“
“This was my first time ordering here but definitely wont be my last the chicken was perfect down to the season the crunch the juiciness and the spice. I got the fire in the hole sammie and they aint lying when they say its waiver worthy its really hot and i love hot!“
“Holy moly I love this place. It’s a bit pricey but well worth it. Portions are nice and easy to share. The shrimp roll is literally what dreams are made of. Hands down the best fried green tomatoes and fried chicken I’ve had in awhile. Topped everything off with a slice of honey pie and I was in heaven. Definitely worth it.“
“Very informal restaurant -order at the counter and take food to table. Food was simple, but excellent. Not a lot of food options, but what we did get was VERY good. Ribs and brisket were both excellent. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Many people getting take-out. In warmer weather we would have considered taking the food to a larger outside area.“
“It's hard not to like Anchor grill. It's as "local greasy spoon" as it gets, but it has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Sort of if your Mom and a couple of her friends opened a diner, and you stopped in for dinner. The staff are friendly and polite, and the food is surprisingly solid. If I'm in the Midwest, I have to satisfy my breaded, fried pork tenderloin sandwich craving. Theirs is thin but decent, and you can't beat the price. Cash only. Give it a try. The pancakes look great. If you're not a local, be aware many restaurants here allow you to smoke inside, and this is one of them.“
“TLDR: go here, order everything, have no regrets! We hadn't been since they moved to Newport. The building is an adorable converted home with fun and beautiful decor. The staff is all friendly and attentive. Our server Kelly was fantastic! Everything is priced reasonably, especially considering what a unique and high-quality experience you get.Our food was phenomenal: Eggplant Napoleon, Classic Buttermilk Biscuits, Angry Orchard Cider Onion Soup, Fried Chicken & Waffle, and Voodoo Salmon with Safron Purloo.I went there with my spouse and we ended up taking home 2 biscuits, half of each entree (chicken and salmon), and the table bread. So come hungry and plan to take home lunch for the next day!Biscuits: 4 biscuits. Came with honey, butter, and jam. A southern staple perfectly executed.Eggplant: I will dream about this for years to come. If you have never tried eggplant, this is the fish that will make you a believer. Eggplant was thinly sliced and breaded. Not slimy (if you eat eggpant you know this is always a risk at restaurants). The cheese in between laters tasted like soft seasoned cream cheese. The red sauce was also well seasoned and full of veggies. Mmmmmm.Soup: kind of like a BBQ French onion. These ppl know how to layer flavors so well. Every bite you can identify something new.Chicken & Waffles: the breading on the chicken is devine! There's a reason they're famous for Chicken. Sweet potato Waffle, bacon, pecan butter- what's not to love?Voodoo salmon: nice crispiness on the outside of salmon, but still fell apart wonderfully (how perfectly cooked fish should). Sauce, rice, andouille, crawfish- fancy southern at its finest.Thank you to all the Purple Poulet staff- you are part of something really special!“
“We came in at the end of the night and the staff was so friendly & ready to help. We got our food really quickly and whatever questions/needs we had were promptly addressed and made the whole experience a pleasure. Most restaurants make you feel like you’re holding them up when it’s closing time but this staff welcomed us to enjoy until we were ready to leave. We would definitely come back!“
“Rupert was such a helpful bartender. We stopped in for happy hour food and a half off bottle (an every wednesday feature!) and Rupert was very helpful with confirming, with genuine confidence, the solidity of our food picks. We ended up staying longer than expected for more wine. Great spot in OTR. Highly “
“We stopped by for our first time to the Greyhound Tavern for lunch on Sunday. We had checked the menu before we left since my wife prefers vegetarian meals and were surprised to find that they only offer brunch on Sundays. The brunch turned out to be a pretty good deal with many of their breakfast and lunch items available.Overall, there were some really good dishes and a couple of disappointments, but it was a good opportunity to taste the menu. My favorites were the fried chicken and the biscuits and gravy. The eggs and bacon were pretty good too.Vegetarian options: Mainly, pasta, or a salad. Most dishes are meat included.Parking: There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant.“
“The customer service here was top notch for a busy day! All the staff was friendly and worked together to get my lunch out to me fast! I was really impressed with the teamwork at this restaurant. They were wonderful! I thought the chicken salad was ok, I tried the Buffalo Barclay, the Classic Carol, and Fruity Fran. They all needed a little more seasoning so I was glad I brought it home. It was delicious and fresh though!“
“We had a reservation and we still had to wait about 45 mins, outside of that the experience was great. We had a couple of mimosas out on the patio while we waited and our order was quickly taken once we were seated. The owner was very nice he made rounds throughout the restaurant, greeting people and thanking everyone for coming in. He stopped by our table and brought out a couple of appetizers for us to try for the wait time inconvenience. The entrees were great, I definitely would returnParking: Free parking lot across the street“
“Loved it! If you love "fall apart brisket", you'll love this place. We had 1/2 pound burnt ends, pork belly appetizer, and brisket sandwiches. The chopped brisket was a little juicier than the sliced but both were great. The bbq sauce on the burnt ends was temperature hotter than the normal bbq sauce and quite a bit smokier. We loved the regular bbq sauce and the Carolina gold was pretty good. The hot was a little too hot. The white sauce has quite a bit of vinegar flavor if you enjoy that. The pork belly appetizer was probably the best thing we had, you have to try it. The burnt ends were perfect with a 50/50 fat/meat ratio and just melt in your mouth. Brisket sandwiches were awesome. From a guy who makes bbq and smokes his own, it's pretty tough to impress me but we'll definitely be back!!There's a huge parking lot behind the restaurant but you pay through an app for parking.Parking: There's scarce free street parking but several paid lots within a half block.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly definitely but bar environment. We enjoyed it with our 4 year old.“
“While it is not the cheapest option, that is partially because of the freshness of the product. I have had all but the Jalapeno version of their chicken salads and loved every one. The grape dessert is also amazing and I highly recommend it, and my kids love the cookies. My favorite way to eat any of the chicken salads is on the croissant, but my wife likes to eat them with the crackers. Either way is delicious! If you haven't, I recommend trying here for a different take on lunch or dinner!Parking: There is plenty of parking, but sometimes you may have to park further out in the lot.“
