We were looking for a caterer, and Google pointed us to Buck's. We talked with them on the phone, and they were more than helpful and accommodating. Before placing the catering order, we decided to stop for dinner tonight to try out the food. The pig roasting on the spit outside told us that this is the real deal. We were excited! The restaurant sits on the banks of the river and there are tables to eat and enjoy the view, so that was nice. The restaurant itself is definitely not fancy. It is located in the basement of a K of C hall. Seemed clean, but plain and...well...like the basement of an old building. A bit shabby. Staff took our orders at the counter and we sat down to wait. We noted that not one of their staff members wore masks, but a handful of their customers did. We received our food and decided to eat indoors since it was a big room and windy/cool outside. A few bites into our meals, 2 other people came in and sat pretty close to us. One had a bad cough, so that was a little concerning...we are older and I am still waiting to get my 2nd jab. Anyway, the person says to us, "Allergies, I promise," but continued to cough. These two were not eating, but were sitting by us without masks. We tried to move away a bit as to not be rude, but it was a little unnerving since she was coughing so hard and we didn't have our masks on, as we were eating. Saying all of this basically because this might be a concern for some who feel sensitive. The customer coughing was of no fault of the restaurant and did not influence my rating. I did subtract a half star because none of the EMPLOYEES wore masks even though there is still a mask mandate at this time. Anyway, food was good, but not as amazing as we had hoped. Standard pulled pork on a bun. Nice seasoning of the pork. Soft bun. The pulled chicken needed more seasoning and it was pretty dry. The fried Brussels sprouts had a nice crunch, but unless eaten piping hot, tasted very greasy. The Mac and cheese was pretty much standard restaurant Mac and cheese nothing particularly unique or memorable. Honestly, we haven't decided if we will use them as a caterer or not. The food was definitely acceptable, but not wow. We had hoped for wow. Also, some of our party is sensitive about covid...and elderly family members, which is why our family party will be small and outdoors, necessitating a caterer rather than having it at our home or at a restaurant. I would hate to have the caterers show up to serve our guests unmasked. Hmmm...will need to consider this one and probably speak to management before booking.

Went back for a second visit, and were super disappointed. There was a big car/bike festival in the parking lot so it was very crowded and we had to wait 45 minutes for our food, but we expected that with the crowd and were happy they got so much business. The disappointment came when we got the food. The Brussels were delicious but the rib meat was very different from the first visit (look at the pics side by side). The first time the meat was pulled, tender, sauce caramelized on them and delicious. This time they were tough and fatty chunks, a much smaller portion (which was fine because I couldn't eat what I had) and very unappealing. Of course, with the crowd, we were not checked on and so I ate what I could and left. The staff was lovely as ever, but we will probably not be back because I really don't want a similarly disappointing food experience.

Buck's is a great local BBQ spot! Last night we got carry out for dinner and we were so pleased. We placed our order over the phone and the food was ready in 15 minutes. We got pulled pork sandwiches and split Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, smashed potatoes, and corn bread. The pulled pork was delicious and I especially liked the bun. Like a few other reviews have mentioned, the Brussels sprouts were amazing! Overall it was a great carryover experience with fair prices and I'm sure we'll be getting it more in the future.

Phenomenal bbq!!! We only had the pulled pork and a burger, but man... they were great! After seeing a picture of the pulled pork fries, I knew we had to try those. The young man who took our order suggested the smashed potatoes as a side because of the cheese sauce. Do yourself a favor and get anything that involves that cheesy deliciousness!!! We had the pulled pork sandwich meal, a burger and another pulled pork sandwich. All were delicious and cooked perfectly, just not enough cheese sauce! The specials of the week look like really good deals, with Monday being the best with a bogo on pulled pork sandwiches Pro tip: get there early on Saturday if you want to try their brisket OR get there later on a Sunday, if you want ribs. They were out of each when we were there around 1:30 on Sunday

Ate here with wife today for lunch. Almost deserted. NOTE--the Yelp hours say that they are closed on Monday, but they are OPEN every day. On Monday, they have a special of 2 pulled pork sammies for the price of one. They were great--also had cornbread and baked beans (the latter had meat in them.) Counter person Jessica was informative, friendly and attentive. Since we had come quite a ways, I got a double Buck burger to take home. There was a guy outside manning a portable smoker--always a good sign. By the time warmer weather arrives, they will have outside dining. This place is within easy walking distance of where I grew up, so it was nice to see a mom-and-pop business like this succeed in my home town

We got a carry out here tonight again. The Family Meal. The brisket and pulled pork were great. The Brussel Sprouts and Green Beans are also great. Wonderful service nice people and very good food.

I had Buck's for the first time today and I absolutely want to go back! I got the loaded fries and I cannot rave about them more. The fries alone would have been really good, as they were crisp and perfectly seasoned. But then you throw delicious bbq meat, bbq sauce and a cheese sauce on top? You get picture perfect perfection. Check them out, you won't be disappointed. (Also the set up looked like a cool place to hang out when things are normal again, as they had a couple pool table, skee ball machine and jukebox). Not to mention they have a nice view of the review and picnic tables outside!!
