“A friend of ours from Independence told us about this restaurant. We made the drive from Cincinnati on a Sunday afternoon. Our party of 3 was seated at the bar. We were waited on by Devin. We opened with The Gold Shoes biscuit trio. Three incredible (INCREDIBLE) biscuits with a sampler of 3 gravies (goetta, peppercorn, and sawmill). How do they make the biscuits that buttery and rich? The gravies were excellent too. The goetta gravy was particularly delicious.Our party had The Barnyard Chicken sandwich, The French Dip sandwich and the Yukon chicken biscuit. The Yukon came with cheese grits, and the sandwiches came with fries. Every single item we were served was three thumbs up!Devin was a gracious and interesting host and we also got to meet Chef Jeff. The place is loud and they should make no apologies about that. The bar has an incredible selection of bourbon (it’s Kentucky and has “Whiskey” in its name). I have a few selections in mind for our next visit. And all three diners were impressed and happily stuffed.“
“We did the tour and ended in the speakeasy. Very enjoyable. Our guide Jeff was very knowledgeable and shared a number of stories about the building and the days of Prohibition. We ended up having lunch and the burgers were delicious as were the fries although we didn’t get very many.All in all it was a very nice experience“

“Holy moly I love this place. It’s a bit pricey but well worth it. Portions are nice and easy to share. The shrimp roll is literally what dreams are made of. Hands down the best fried green tomatoes and fried chicken I’ve had in awhile. Topped everything off with a slice of honey pie and I was in heaven. Definitely worth it.“

“Not a fancy place, but the chicken is the best in town. Even all the extras were fantastic: mashed potatoes, gravy, cole slaw, rolls, etc. Great place for quick carry out, but also indoor seating available. Friendly staff. Free on-site parking.“
“One of my favorite bars in cincinnati!! Their cocktail menu doesn’t miss!!! Pictured is their spring 2023 menu and I ordered the ‘Table talks’ from it! I was fascinated by all the different ingredients for the drink. I’m a gin drinker so I naturally lean in that direction. I felt like this drink was either going to be a miss or an absolute favorite no one between. IT WAS AMAZING!! And come on the little milk jar glass, obsessed!! I still think about this drink sometimes and hope it makes it back onto the menu soon. If you can’t find a current drink menu, trust me there will be something you like when you go in! If not the bar staff is so nice and are so attentive to make sure you are served a drink you will love “
“Beautiful space with plenty of seating, the service was fast and the food was INCREDIBLE. We only had a 20 minute wait for a table on a busy Sunday morning, which was amazing to hear since most brunch spots take a lot longer. Prices were VERY fair for the quality and quantity of food that you get - overall, can't recommend this place enough! Will definitely be dining there again soon.Parking: Public parking lot around the back of the restaurant and plenty of street parking“
“We came in at the end of the night and the staff was so friendly & ready to help. We got our food really quickly and whatever questions/needs we had were promptly addressed and made the whole experience a pleasure. Most restaurants make you feel like you’re holding them up when it’s closing time but this staff welcomed us to enjoy until we were ready to leave. We would definitely come back!“
“I ordered here through Doordash based on reviews and a coupon. I am so glad I did. I got the half rack of ribs, and when I tell you they were tender OMG. Fall off the bone. I'm super picky about ribs and these were next level. I also ordered a side of greens, Mac and cheese, cornbread, and fried plantains . Greens were pretty good. They were flavorful with a kick. I was not a fan of the Mac and cheese, although I really wanted to be. Cornbread was fine. Plantains we're good. Next time I will order the rib meal again with greens and plantains.“
“Visited on a Sunday around dinner time. Was seated right away. Waitress was attentive as well as accommodating. Honey Butter Chicken and Country Fried Chicken were delicious. Chicken was cooked perfectly. We had Chocolate Lava Cake and Appe Pie AlaMode for dessert. Both were yummy!“

“All the negative reviews don't take into consideration that this place is a sweet little diner. They aren't supposed to be at their best when they're packed to the gills on a Saturday. Even brunch chains struggle with Cincy crowds, that's a staffing and a demand issue. This isn't waffle house, y'all.Sugar and spice is flawless. Good food, hardly any grease for a greasy spoon, everyone is friendly and the ambiance is wonderful. Come here on a weekday for lunch or breakfast and you will be more than satisfied.“
“Servers are very busy, but, the food is so good! My son got blueberry pancakes with blueberries on top and I was so envious, simply because my blood sugar can't handle than. I have the same problem every time I visit...there are 4 things I want to order, not just one.“
