A friend of ours from Independence told us about this restaurant. We made the drive from Cincinnati on a Sunday afternoon. Our party of 3 was seated at the bar. We were waited on by Devin. We opened with The Gold Shoes biscuit trio. Three incredible (INCREDIBLE) biscuits with a sampler of 3 gravies (goetta, peppercorn, and sawmill). How do they make the biscuits that buttery and rich? Yummy and unique food! The biscuits melt in your mouth. Entrees are great portions. The Gold Fever and Rhine Poutine can typically last me 2-3 meals. The drinks are always delicious too! My go-tos are a classic margarita or the Union Station.
Considering the service ( welcoming and friendly) , food (phenomenal like momma's) , atmosphere (rustic and homely) THIS place is a 10/5! The GM, Nancy is nothing short of amazing. She personally sat us, checked on us, and took the time to talk with us. Our server, Maria, made amazing suggestions and made sure we loved our choices.
