“We arrived late after a long day on the road from the Midwest. After a warm welcome, we were seated on the terrace to enjoy the beautiful night and live music playing inside. We ordered a complicated meal but everything was brought out exactly as we ordered and was deliciously fabulous! Great atmosphere, great service, and great food! Highly recommend! We will definitely come here again when we travel to and from the Midwest on I-64. Ask for Liz, she is great!Vegetarian options: Veggie fajitas, veggie and cheese enchiladas, burritos, anything you want with veggies and/or cheese.”
“As an owner of a restaurant I normally don't endorse other restaurants. However the food here is awesome. The service is top notch and the owners are great ”
“My porkchops were perfectly fried, had terrific greens and a huge baked potato. The chocolate pie was perfect. Great iced tea!! If you order anything and aren't pleased, they will make it right! My go-to, homecooked meal. Never disappointed. Always worth the drive to the country!!!!”
“This place never disappoints. We are always happy with any dish we order. Tonight I had the shrimp tacos and they were perfectly cooked. We also had the tamales and dessert was great. The flan was cooked perfectly. The first time we discovered La Casita de Mama we were house hunting in Shelby. We ordered pitchers of sangria and bought a house an hour later. We are happy homeowners and glad we also have a taste of home at La Casita de Mama!!!!”
“Great restaurant, we love stopping here whenever we are in Kentucky. The service is excellent, and every entree we have ever tried has been great. Can’t recommend it enough.”
“This little spot is a treasure, it needs to be a regular stop on your way through Eminence. Worth going out of your way to visit as well. The apple fritters and long johns are particularly delightful. These folks have donuts figured out.”
“The Marguritas are superb. The Best I've ever had. Queso with chorizo is absolutely delicious. Large portions. Outside patio is Amazing in the summer with live music on certain days. Wide variety of vegetarian options as well. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Almost anything can be made vegetarian. They will work with you on the menu for the most part.Dietary restrictions: Great selection. Beans, rice, vegetable quesodilla, salads.Parking: Plenty of parking”
“Excellent coffee (even came with delightful latte art!) and freshly prepared pastries and breakfast or lunch options. Friendly service, quality food in a positive, inviting, and peaceful environment. Spacious and accommodating for meetings, or one-on-one conversations. You will see meaningful connections to the core values of Awake Ministries in the employees who serve you as well as the photographs and the art work.Highly recommend!”
“Decent Mexican food restaurant. Came here for lunch on business and I ordered the enchilada. The portion size of rice and beans were great. The enchilada (chicken) seemed to look very thin. Everything was tasty though. The only suggestion I would have is to update the restroom. The sink in the bathroom uses handles to turn on and off the faucet. It is great that they have a sensor towel dispenser so one does not have to touch anything; however, having to touch faucet handles after one washes their hands kind of defeats the purpose of washing to clean ones hands. I would also suggest that the soap dispenser also be sensor; however, the faucet should definitely be sensor.”
“First time here, omg what a fabulous place and what great staff Carrie and Dawn were so nice and friendly and David cooked the BEST chicken club and onion rings It may be out of the way for some but if your looking for good old fashioned service, quality and small town flare this is the place It’s a home town”
“Nice place! Please be careful when leaving. Law enforcement is very diligent on the streets surrounding the area. Tires are marked. Enjoy, but don’t have too much fun.”
“Was driving everywhere to find somewhere to eat. Was gonna eat at our usual spot Bread and Deli in kukui grove (their clam chowder bowls for 8$ is so good) but they were closed (everything closes super early on Kauai aside from all the tourist spots in Kapaa) we settled for this Mexican food truck and it was really good. 18$ is a little steep for me but it is in kapaa and a big portion. The chimichanga was huge and I always love having something fresh to go with it as all the meat beans and rice can be heavy. On top they put lettuce, tomatoes some guacamole cheese and sour cream. The beans on the side were a little bland and the rice is well, rice. The meat was very tender and all in all good. I was surprised that they didn't have horchata, my boyfriend and I always look forward to trying new horchatas from different Mexican eatery's so we were a little bummed out about that. Since Kapaa is a busy road and it's kind of off the main road it's a little hard to find parking. I think there was a parking lot across the street but hard to tell, we just pulled over on the side of the food truck. The server was very nice and their menu was displayed on the side of the truck which I love. I always have to visually see what I'm getting so there's no surprises when I receive the food!”
“My husband and I stopped after our first distillery tour on the bourbon trail. He had a fried catfish meal and I had blackened catfish taco which were delicious. Great seasoned fries and what seemed like house made tartar sauce. The owner was very social and kind as was his daughter who worked there.”
“Good service. The french fries were hot and tasty. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was hot but flavor is a miss. Some bites the spicyness was there. Other bites of the chicken was bland tasting.”
“Never had a gelato flavor I did not like here. It's always clean and fast. They let you sample. The banana pudding gelato is to die for. Also I almost always get cookies and cream.”
“MY FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP IN SHELBYVILLE!!!!Love Tori and Angie! Pen is a wonderful owner and supports so many of our community by having a welcoming environment for all walks of life. Come here if you want to meet the locals and talk about anything and everything. On top of that the coffee is fantastic. My go to is an iced caramel macchiato. Check out all the local artwork too.”
“I love this taco place it’s always so good and at a good price. The only issue I came on to this time was the young man helping me didn’t get my order correct, and I think it was because of the AirPods in his ears.”
“went here for a friends 22nd birthday party . there was barley and people there . beautiful location, wine was very failry priced and honestly less expensive than a normal dinner at the local diner nowadays ! lots of cute animals on the property as well . did a round of the wine tasting and bought a bottle and some beer cheese . all of it was delicious ! would highly reccomend”
“I've been out of town for the past 14 months. It's really good to come home to some great Italian food!! Great service and friendly staff!! Thank you for providing for a great meal and atmosphere to spend with my family!!Vegetarian options: Cheese ravioli was great!!”
“Nice people working hard to bring great food to the community!I love little food trucks like this. Feels so homey. I love waking up to the food truck and being out in the fresh open air getting great food someone poured their best and soul into!Read the scripture associated with the name of the business! Awesome to give God the glory. Every good thing comes from God and he always deserves the glory! Amen.”
“I absolutely love this place! The margaritas are amazing and there's never any wait! The owners and I have become friends and they're very welcoming and the ambiance is great! A wonderful place to stop by after a long night at work. Keep up the great work!”
“This may be the most authentic Mexican food to be found in Kentucky. I recognized some of the food on the menu but most of it was not American Mexican fare. I ordered a dish I had never heard of. It was wonderful. The server didn't understand most of what we said but that didn't matter much. We will return.”
“We went with family that included ages 6 to 80. Everyone had a nice time and found something they could enjoy to eat on the menu! We didn't get any pictures but everything came out as expected and there were no issues even with our larger group. We didn't have to wait a long time for our food to come out either. I'm sure we'll be back at some point.”
“We have a tradition every summer of swinging through the drive thru at this Dairy Queen for Blizzards after a long day at the Kentucky Renaissance Faire. Makes for a good treat. Honestly better than the Dairy Queens closer to home. Service is always friendly and the Blizzards are better made.”
“Ordered from the DoorDash app and this was my first time eating from this establishment. All I can say is that I will most definitely eat here again. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious! I ordered the sub in the tub and it was a huge amount of food! Great job!”
“I was skeptical with no one in the parking lot but with them supporting a school event in the past I wanted to give it a chance. Great service and food was great. And no wait! Win win”
“Very basic restaurant with a smaller menu and rotating special. Tried the Godbey burger and it was cooked well and topped as advertised. Fries were a bit soggy like the oil was to cold but otherwise our meal was fine. Very small restaurant.”
