I"m a little confused regarding the hype about this place. I was extremely excited to try it, but it was a mixed experience. The food was fine, but it wasn't anything overly delicious or special. The loco moco was a little disappointing and the rice bowl with the shrimp was just okay.The restaurant itself was hard for me to eat in because it's just so dirty. Sticky floors, stuff on the walls.....it was hard to eat b/c I was so distracted by how filthy things were, so I tried not to look around in an attempt to not think about it. It did make me wonder, however, if that's what the dining area looked like, what kind of condition was the kitchen in?Glad I tried it, but it was a one time thing and nothing memorable (except the conditions of the restaurant that stood out more than the food) or worth revisiting.

Allow me to introduce you to a wonderful new addition. They go by, The Cove Hawaiian Grill.The Cove is Baton Rouge's best kept little secret! Having stayed on the islands for a while, this is the closest I've ever come to such amazing flavor on the mainland.Friendly staff and food that will make you want to ask for seconds. I've considered myself a return customer since day one.

We called at 7:05pm to place a to go order. Although The Cove closes at 7:30pm they were willing to accommodate our late order. Our food was fresh and prepared upon arrival as we walked in to pick it up! I had the spicy pork roll with white rice!
