Steve was a stand-up guy and he managed his docks well. We unloaded our catch there and he paid us a fair price. I remember one time that I found a little puppy along side I-90 driving on my way down to the docks. I stopped and picked it up and it was infested with fleas. I put it in the back seat. I took the little thing to the docks. The first thing Steve did was go get de-lousing shampoo for the puppy. Steve was a good man. I think he kept the dog and spoiled it silly. I remember that I was miserable, and I was in graduate school and Steve was feeding the dog meatballs or some other thing and I could only afford roman noodles.
