“I've been to Hummus and More a few times and have enjoyed it each time. Tonight we had a larger group and we were celebrating a birthday. Service was great, thank you, Mabel. The owners sent out complimentary dessert for the group. A very kind gesture thank you.“
“Surprisingly, a fusion that really works is Israeli and Southern food at Shaya. Located along Magazine Street, it's a small restaurant with inviting staff. Booking a reservation on a Monday at noon, our party of four walked in and were served in no time.To feed myself, wife, mother-in-law, and seven-year-old daughter, we ordered the fried chicken hummus, mushroom hummus, pide, and three dips (labneh, beets, and moussaka). We were literally full from noon to the next morning. The pita bread comes out hot unlimited and it's filling!Literally, every dish was great, but I found the sweetness of the date salsa verde and the savory of the aleppo pepper worked well on the fried chicken hummus. (The hummus is so smooth!) My wife and mother-in-law loved the mushroom hummus best.Don't sleep on the drinks. The pomegranate lemon soda was refreshing, Lebanese iced tea sweet, and the mint tea comes with a pitcher of more.If you love good food, go here!“
“The food at Saba was delicious, simple, and fresh! The humus and pita was definitely the star of the show. I could've eaten the blue crab hummus as a meal alone. The shrimp dish was good, but not as wonderful as the rest of the meal! The green falafel was definitely a favorite as well, even if it is simpler than some of the other options. There was slight disappointment in the chicken not being available, so be prepared for disappointment if going on a weekend or busy time as they may sell out! Service was great and the restaurant has wonderful charm to it! I recommend eating in the lounge if available when making your reservations!“
“I ordered the Vegan Feast. I wish there was more falafel for the amount of two hummus, one beet salad/kimchi, one salad, and one other type of hummus. The amount of food for the cost in NOLA sure, but I wish I had ordered 2-3 days ago so I could eat it all.“
“I’m not really a big fan of Mediterranean cuisines, but this place is so authentic that I keep wanting to come back. I love how they provide huge portions of complimentary bread before your meal and pair it with pickled veggies. I ordered the fried kibby, lamb chops, chicken tikka, and beef shawarma. The portions are ginormous and definitely worth the price!!! You can tell everything is homemade, and my favorite is the hummus! It’s soooo good!!!! What made my dining experience even better was the service. Our waiter was phenomenal. Very attentive and accommodating to our requests!“
“I ordered the kebab platter. The tahini sauce tasted better than any tahini sauce I have tasted. The Greek salad had very fresh lettuce considering it’s a Sunday night when most restaurants serve slightly wilted lettuce. The hamburger shaped kebabs topped with small sticks of pickles and very thinly sliced onions. When dipped it in the garlic sauce, it was delicious. Now that I think about it I wish I would’ve asked for a spoon so I could have gotten more good rice in my mouth. I wanted something light and filling, and I sure got it. I was totally satisfied when I left the place. It was very clean and appealing and the help was very friendly. When I leave Houston to come visit my sister, Shawarma on the Run will definitely be a stop for us.“
“I'm a huge fan of gyros. This was the first time I have been to this location. They pros: quick service. I waited under 10 minutes for my plate. Large portions versus cost. They packed my plate and it wasn't just rice as filler. Cons: The taste was what you'd expect of gyro meat. I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't wow'd either. I would not recommend the spinach pie. It wasn't traditional. Decent taste but not the real thing.“
“Had dinner 3/16/24, and ate outside. Food was excellent, good portions and an very reasonable prices. Service was laid back and good. Clean establishment. they do not serve any alcohol, however they allow you o bring your own beer and wine, without a corkage fee.I only gave 4 stars, people are allowed to bring their dogs. I love dogs, but try sitting down to eat and a big one does his business next to you. Not here, but it could happen. Also, people were allowed to smoke in the outside area.I would recommend and return, but most likely sit inside.“
“The food is amazing! Waitstaff are the kindest, most caring bunch. They'll make you feel like family! They serve all foodie types! We eat here 1x a month, if not more..Place a to go order, and go next door to the grocery store to pick up the eccentals, then grab your food on your way out!“
“This place, LOVE IT!! I drive an hour and a half just to come and eat here!! The food is delicious!! Doesn't matter what you have, it's all good (especially the lamb shank!!) but come early because sometimes they run out! The interior is very casual and relaxed and they have some outdoor seating which I found is nice also! This place can get pretty crowded but for the most part they can handle a good size crowd. Definitely check this place out, great price for the food and quality of the food you get! One of my top 10 gavotte favorite places to go eat at in New Orleans! Oh, its a BYOB place...Parking: There are side streets you can park on including the main street but sometimes it gets crowded... you might have to walk a bit but walking never really hurt anyone!“
“The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the food is tasty. The swarma plate is huge and comes with very tasty rice and a salad. The meat is seasoned well and the salad dressing was wonderful. Not enough pita bread so order extra. One thing though... the Baba Ganou does not come with pita bread. You have to order that separately. Ask for some extra pita bread and you'll be fine!“
“This was one of the best (and fastest) restaurants I enjoyed in NOLA. They have gluten free pita which is such a plus for us gluten free people, but overall the food was so fresh, so good, and so satiating. I was in need of a meal that made me feel good after eating and finally we tripped over this restaurant. 11/10 this was truly amazing food.“
“Soooo good!!! I had the lamb and chicken platter. When I tell you the meat is seasoned so well!! The hummus is delicious and flavorful and the dressing on the salad tasted homemade, it’s so delicious. 10/10 must try!!! I can’t wait to go“
“This place was great! The food was delicious beyond expectations, and the prices were very reasonable. We aren’t fancy restaurant people, so the laid back easy atmosphere was fine for us. The staff was super friendly. And what’s better than sitting on a barstool right at the front windows watching people go down a dirty sidewalk in New Orleans? It will always be a favorite in NOLA.“
“We were at a conference at the Marriott and wanted a healthy choice of food. Cleo's did not disappoint! The menu had several dishes to choose from and the food was so fresh and delicious! We had the lamb kebabs, salad, saffron rice and hummus. I want to go back and try other dishes while we are here. It was a quiet and intimate atmosphere if you are looking for a break from the noisy NOLA scene. Prices were very reasonable!Vegetarian options: Vegetables were cooked fresh, salad was amazingDietary restrictions: There were so many options to choose from. I did not want bread or fried food, and we found the dishes delicious and fresh and portions of meat and vegetables large and satisfying!Kid-friendliness: There were children eating there, they seemed to enjoy the hummus!“
“You might not expect much from a corner style store but this is hands down one of my all time favorite spots! It just reminds me of a neighborhood store where you can just so happen to get a BANGIN meal with counter service. This is what we call a "hidden gem" because it's like asking a genie for a beautiful, delicious meal full of life and flavor with aromatics and tantalizing tastes - then with the twist genie's usually give - you find yourself in a place with no tables or chairs to eat it at. The experience of what your tastebuds witness is worth eating standing up, walking, taking back to a place you can enjoy or just diving in right there on Canal street surrounded by construction. I feel like this really gives you the bility to focus in on just the food where some restaruants have too much happening as part of the experience. This is simple and strictly about the taste and quality of food. Not to mention this is the only place I've been in all of America that has vegetarian mousakka.“
“So I have to say I went to eat here last night and I was here probably 2 weeks prior but last night wasn't quite as fresh as the first time I was there. I mean don't get me wrong, the food is still really good but I guess my expectations were a little higher because of my first experience... Nonetheless I would still recommend this place because the food is good and the service is great and they tend to be open a little later than a lot of other places so I'll definitely come back but just keep an eye on the quality of some things.Parking: Normally there is adequate parking but last night was really crowded and it was a little difficult to get a spot.“
