Crawfish pies were hot and perfectly seasoned. Fantastic gingerbread man cookies. The gift area has well priced and unique Louisiana cookware and souvenir cups

Me and my friends go all the time at night and the one girl who works the deli at night is the sweets and most helpful person I’ve meet. Food is always good as well

Heard lots of good things about this place but was disappointed in the shrimp po boy. Thought it would be filled more with shrimp. It wasn't horrible...but it wasn't awesome.

Absolutely the best yam cakes and muffin tops i have ever had. My only wish is that they did mail order with their baked goods. I live in FL and due to health issues have not been back thru there in a few years. If u are looking for some down home cooking u can't go wrong here. Food, deserts , atmosphere and employees were fantastic.

Of course I had to stop at the French Market on my way back to Dallas. The city of Natchitoches is the perfect place to stop for gas, food or fun & the French Market is your One Stop Shop. You name it they have it ( ready made food or food made to order, dessert, groceries, snacks, drinks/DRANK, books, clothes, souvenirs etc). Usually when we stop in I just buy either a po'boy or one of the regular meat pies (which are always good). Today I saw they had Christmas ornaments, so I had to indulge. I've never seen an actual book as an ornament before. So cute and functional. Whenever I have kids I can surely not only put it on the tree, but read it to them. If you've never been in or through this town I highly encourage you to visit.

We stopped on our way from vacation back home and got some yam cake because of the reviews I saw. It was really good! The place was a little busy but they are well organized and I didn't have to wait long.

Stopped on the way to Texas. The womens bathroom is DISGUSTING. The trash was overflowing, one toilet had nice yellow spritz and the other 2/3 stalls had no toilet paper. Then my husband (42) and myself (35) grabbed two beers. The clerk ID'd my husband and that was annoying already, but I get it. My husband hands over his DL and the clerk says, "One that's NOT expired."... it expired on 12-17-23 its 01-01-24Get real. This WAS a stop I made no matter what on my way to and from Louisiana. Not one more time.K,thxbye.Also THE BEER IS CHEAPER AT RACEWAY! And the employees at RACEWAY gives grace to grownups who have lives and can't always get the IDs renewed in the middle of the busiest times of year for us all.

This place looks a little run down from the outside, but the inside is surprisingly clean and a great place to stop in if on a long car ride or just in the area. They carry the usual gas station supplies as well as local souvenirs and some great food. We had two Natchitoches Meat Pies and some yam mini muffins. Meat Pies are a local delicacy - and they are delicious! Ground beef mixed with onion, bell pepper, and a variety of spices make for an excellent bite to eat. I highly suggest stopping in and stretching your legs here, and while you're at it, fill up the tanks in your car and in your belly.

I don’t usually post bad reviews, and this place is generally my favorite, but the service here has tanked. Last week, they forgot to give me half of my order. This time, I ordered two sausage biscuits, a bacon biscuit, tots, and a kolache. I opened my food, and the bacon biscuit is completely mangled. No big deal - I can’t eat that in the car, so I go back in and ask them to replace it. The girl tells me that they are out of biscuits, even though I can see at least a dozen wrapped in the case. I tell her that’s fine, I just want a refund and I’ll give the biscuit back. She tells me to keep it because I’ve already touched it and walks away. I always stop here when I go through Natchitoches, but I think it’s definitely time to take a break from them.

OH MY GOSH THE GINGERBREAD MEN ARE AMAZING!!! I bake a lot and am not easily impressed with store bought baked goods, but these cookies are off the chart in taste and texture. HANDS DOWN THE BEST GINGERBREAD MEN (cookies) I HAVE EVER HAD!!!

When in Natchitoches, Louisiana, a visit to the French Market is an absolute must, especially for the iconic yam cake. This delectable treat is nothing short of amazing - a true culinary delight that you simply can't miss. The French Market in Natchitoches has undoubtedly mastered the art of crafting this flavorful yam cake, making it a highlight of any visit. Highly recommended for those seeking a taste of local excellence!

We stopped in this town to spend the night. We needed gas and stopped at the “French Market Express”. Strange name for a gas station. Then we went inside and WOW! I don’t know much about Cajun food. So standing in front of all the goodies that were presented in the cases, and with all of its unique names I was very fortunate there was a young lady that had the patience to teach me a little bit. According to her everything in the cases was excellent, that didn’t make my making my choices any easier. She suggested a few dishes and that’s what I got. It was outstanding. The pastry was the same as it all looked delicious. We dined in. Food was delicious and hot, service was great and with a beautiful smile. The bill was very reasonable especially for how good everything was.

Best biscuits in the state. Bucky level clean restrooms. Polite, engaged employees, very competitive prices.
