Our last review was December 2018. I just reread it and not much has changed. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes as our appetizer, and I was surprised that the price had not changed ($4.99) since 2018. That's cheaper than what I paid at another restaurant last night. However, I don't remember how many we got then. This time we got four thick slices on a bed of sliced lettuce. We keep ordering the fried green tomatoes, but honestly, while many places are good, none of them can match my wife's. She makes the kind where if there are left-overs, I grab another one every time I pass the plate, until they are gone! My wife ordered the thin fried catfish, and I ordered the thick, which kind of matches our shapes! Our server, Daisha, also manned the bar, and she was delightful. I ate everything on my plate except I gave my wife my hush puppies. My thick catfish had three 6-inch pieces, and my wife's thin-sliced had more, but we didn't count. Our fish came with two small slices of buttered French bread, slaw, and garlic fries. Some places give you too many fries for your meal, and usually not enough slaw, but here, everything came out even! We needed a to-go box for my wife's meal, so there is lunch for tomorrow. We'll probably be back in a couple more years, and this place will be on our agenda.

This place was great to stop and grab a quick bite for lunch while walking around the city. The downstairs dining room is open aired which is nice. The food was great and so was service.

We took the St Charles streetcar from our hotel in the French Quarter and got off a short walk from this delicious, unpretentious restaurant for a 1 pm midweek lunch in late April. There were only about 8 tables with people so we felt we had the place to ourselves. Sarah was our server and a pure delight, hunting us down in the parking lot after we left to return my credit card I had mistakenly left behind. The cold draft amber beer in iced schooners was a perfect compliment to our delicious meals, which included gumbo soup for a starter, shrimp tacos, and a fried shrimp plate with hush puppies and fries (delicious aioli sauce) and cole slaw (latter was just average). All of this (3 beers) for under $50 and boy we were full for the next 12 hours! As tourists we wanted local food that was just like this -- plentiful, well prepared, and not super expensive. Love this place.

Very good food. Good service. Good location on St Charles will return. Bakery attached. Seat by the big windows to watch traffic in St. Charles.

Stopped in because we kept seeing it going to and from our hotel. Good burgers and sandwiches were big. We would eat here again.

We visited the French Quarter location twice. We ordered the huge platter of fried goodies and three of us shared it. Our grandson discovered he loved fried shrimp and he even tried the alligator bites. I'm not sure I told him they were alligator! But he ate them and liked the sweet and sour sauce they were served with. We also ordered hamburgers one afternoon and they were good. Service was pretty good both days and could have been a bit more attentive. We sat upstairs one afternoon near the window with a nice breeze coming in. Quite pleasant! I will go back!

This was probably the best burger I’ve ever had at a restaurant! When our waiter took our order after he left I realized he didn’t ask how I wanted my burger cooked, but when it came out it was perfect. If ever in New Orleans again I will definitely stop here again.

We were in town again and ate here a couple of times 2 years ago so we tried again. Was really pleased with the pricing and food the last time around. I will still pleased with my food this time but the rest of my party was sort of ho hum about what they got. I think I just chose well, blackened fish with veggies and rice. Safe and easy. 2 got fried platters, one a bbq shrinp po boy. Prices are still very reasonable and I've never experienced a wait here but the place is always busy. I still think it's a good place to go for an inexpensive meal.

Went for dinner here. Wasn’t too busy on a Thursday night. The server was a little busy with tables so it took a bit to get our order in, but the food came within 10min or less. Good overall food. Nothing spectacular but for the price the portions were good and the food satisfying. Also, the free ice cream cone for dessert was a good end to the meal.

The food was excellent. We had an amazing server in Jamey and came back the next day for more. Get the seafood platter!

After a day of sightseeing we stopped here and perched on the upstairs patio for happy hour. Perfect place for people-watching the tourist below. The wait staff was wonderful and friendly and service was good. The beer was cold and hit the spot on a warm afternoon.

This place had the best thin fried catfish! We got the platter so we could eat a big variety and it was all delish. The gumbo was on point too. Service was quick and attentive and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for- relaxed and casual. We sat in the bar so we could enjoy full service. Also, they have free soft serve ice cream with meals and it tasted like a vanilla malt in an ice cream cone...soooo good!

Casual eatery with reasonable prices and excellent service. Located in the heart of the Garden District on St.Charles street accessible by streetcar or adequate on site parking. Wonderful red beans and rice. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes. Reasonably priced cocktails and beer.

We had dinner here tonight. The hamburgers were very good and they were huge. It was hard to finish them. They were served with buttery garlic fries. You order and pay and the meal is bought to you. The prices were reasonable. They give complimentary vanilla small soft ice cream in cones for dessert.
