We came here after reading all the positive reviews yet unsure if they were going to be accurate. We walked in to a what appeared to be a converted Victorian style house in an area of town we had never been - not too far from Tulane in the gorgeous area known as Uptown or East Carrollton. Thankfully with our reservations we were immediately seated while walking by diners with smiles on their faces. The menu has plenty of options (although could do with a few more vegetarian friendly dishes).

My husband and I plus several others went to New Orleans for business a few months ago, and one of the restaurants on the agenda was a special tasting at Carrollton Market. Spoiler alert: we all loved it; however, let's talk about it anyway. First up was the Oysters Goodenough, which was fried oysters topped with bacon, creamed leeks and bearnaise. So stinkin good! A perfect bite packed with flavor. Next was the Gulf Shrimp Crepinette, which appeared similar to an omelet to me. Made with coconut creme and yellow curry, it was really delicious. Not overly spicy or heavy handed on the curry, which is appreciated by me as curry isn't my topmost favorite flavor. I loved this. We also had the Pork Belly Al Pastor served with crispy brussel sprouts. I liked it just fine - had great flavor as expected - but I am not a huge pork belly fan like the rest of the table. Everyone else absolutely died over this. Trust them - they know their food! For entrees, I think the only thing we had from the menu was the Creole Cream Cheese Cavatelli, which was comfort food carb heaven, but of course kicked up a notch with crab meat. It was wonderful! Other things we tried were a salt crusted striped bass with field peas and lemony hollandaise (excellent), foie gras on top of a pancake with cherry (not a fan of foie gras, but the others said it was the best foie gras they've ever had), branzino topped with almonds over greens (my fave of the night, surprisingly!) and a veal chop stuffed with fontina and spinach with marsala mushrooms and potatoes (rich flavor, super yummy). We had the best time at Carrollton Market. We loved our meal and left happy and extremely satisfied. We had wonderful service, good cocktails, and a great night out with co-workers. We'd definitely come here again!

We love Carrollton Market. In fact, it's one of our favorites. I am consistently happy with the food and service from this restaurant. We have been here about 5 times. CM has a neighborhood feel but slightly upscale. The staff is always super nice. I was trying to get 6 people in on a Saturday night and the hostess worked so hard to make that table happen. She called me late on a Thursday to say something opened up last minute. Very grateful for that level of service. As for the food, I feel comfortable ordering anything off their menu. In fact, I order outside my comfort zone and have been pleasantly surprised each time. Their menu changes, so my below favorites might not be available. Favorites: Crab cake Pork belly Foie gras Stuffed chicken Like I said, this is one of our favorites. Book yourself a table when COVID settles down and enjoy.

I started with the Ora King Salmon “Hot Oil” starter which was absolutely out of this world and purely packed with flavor. The freshly baked bread rolls were perhaps the best blend of dough to butter I've ever had and absolutely perfect to 'mop up' the remaining hot oil from the dish. Absolutely superb. My next dish was the Whole Roasted Fish which featured the Branzino. Two fresh filets were served on a healthy sized bed of Fresh Field Peas and Kale Pistou with a drizzle of Beurre Blanc and Herbs. I'm telling you - this was hands down the most delicious entree of fish I've had so far in this city. We completed the meal with a chocolate pudding that was slightly salted and completely rich and creamy topped with a healthy dab of whipped cream and served along freshly fried beignets. I didn't want to leave! The wine selection is spot on and the service was attentive. I will absolutely be back next time I'm in town. Well down Chef Goodenough and his team.

Best restaurant experience in New Orleans for me. Service was top notch and put this place over the top: welcoming but not in your face, genuinely interested in making sure you enjoy your meal and drinks.
