You wouldn't expect a menu like they have, in a place like this, when you walk in. They claim to have the best damn shrimp Po boy in town, and they also say their burgers are really good. I sat at the bar, and Paul, the bartender recommended that I get the Twice Fried Pork Chop. As you can see by the pictures, it comes out very impressive. The cilantro base sauce surrounded with potatoes and vegetables, with three, very edible pork chops. Now I'm not a fan of anything cilantro-based, but I was not going to make any special requests on my first time eating here. I can tell you the pork chops were very juicy, which I was concerned about having them twice fried, which made them very crispy. So you can enjoy this dish with all the sauces and vegetables and potatoes it comes with, but you can also enjoy this dish if you just want the pork chop. I had this dish with two beers and my bill was less than $25. So for a really good meal, at a reasonable price, you can't go wrong with this place.

We just returned from dinner at Commander's Palace - supposedly one of the best restaurants in the city. It was ok, but the best meal we had all week was at Tahyo. The burger was amazing and those goose fat fries are to die for. Next time I will skip the palace and eat here twice

Great food and fun times. Service was amazing - Jasper is the best. Wife had the burger and I had the po boy. Both were fabulous and the fries are basically from another world! We will come back, however, just for the musssels. Had a taste and they are unbelievable! You can't go wrong with this joint.

Everyone should come here and spend lots of money!! We had already ate lunch but we wanted to donate and give them our patronage because we knew some of the money goes to the dogs, so we each had a drink, and we made a donation. Keep up all the wonderful hard work that you do for the pibbles!!

I've been to Tahyo Tavern before, but have never met Paul, the FABULOUS bartender! He was incredibly helpful, hilarious, and he knows what he is doing. Despite being incredibly exhausted from the Mardi Gras crowd, he still had a smile and sense of humor. My friends and I had so much fun talking with him. We will be back FOR SURE!

Atmosphere was great, our server Christina was great, great customer service... the rest? Absolutely terrible. 3 of the 5 dishes in total came out, at different times... the other two just never made it out of the kitchen. And two of the three orders, burgers (which the house cooks 'medium' - see pic) were both entirely red, cold and raw in the middle. I can see why this place was the only spot with seating available on Fat Tuesday.
This place was amazing! The Mac and cheese, and fries are two things I keep craving. I wish I could find those fries in my home town. Granted that will stop me from getting fat Then the staff there are all so sweet! Definitely is a must in New Orleans!

I have been a huge fan of their show Pit bulls and Parolees for years. They're such an amazing rescue organization and I admire them so much and eating here did not disappoint me. Everyone working there was really nice and carried conversation with us. The fried green tomatoes were delicious!! I recommend it. They had local beer which was refreshing. The best part was knowing our bill and purchasing a lend a paw donation was helping the rescue. A great place to go and support a good cause by eating and grabbing a drink when your in New Orleans.
