Sadly it looks like this great place has closed for good...The Crazy Italian Pizzeria imports New York water to perfect their New York style pizza and they also have the best version of a margherita pizza I've had in the New Orleans area. Granted that at least to my taste they could add a whole LOT more basil to the margherita pizza to make it even better. Their other pizza options are also nice and the pizza crust here is generally quite nicely done. The one area I found they could use some substantial improvement is in their pasta where I have just found that there are better options for pasta in the area than what they offer here. Another area they offer some fantastic flavors are in the dessert category as they do offer some really amazing gelato options. Overall this is a great spot for pizza and gelato while I would probably not put the pasta anywhere near the top of my favorites. My video review of The Crazy Italian is here:https://youtu.be/uFzB1ZClE7k

I absolutely love The Crazy Italian! The food is always fresh and their pasta sauce is amazing. My favorite is the pepperoni pizza and they have wonderful appetizers.

Very casual, laid-back atmosphere. Pizza and mozzarella cheese sticks were ?! Going to bring my wife and nephew there again today since we're in town.Kid-friendliness: Got half-cheese, half-pepperoni pizza. Kids loved it. They had capri suns.

Bolognese pasta was really good and the reason this review is 4/5 instead of 3. I was not impressed with the pizza at all. From what I could tell based on bottom of crust, pizzas are baked on a screen like any other chain pizzeria. I’m sure it would be significantly better if baked on stove, particularly when it comes to texture.

The best NY style pizza in NOLA! I grew up in NY and this is the best pizza I have found in NOLA. The pizzas are hug and are full of flavor. I order for pick up and it always hot and ready when I get there. Whenever I'm missing home I grab a pizza. ?Parking: They only have a few spots and the lip on the curb is ruff. If all the spots are full it hard to find parking.

We ordered bolognese and pepperoni pizza. The bolognese is on point and the pasta used is pappardelle I think and it really worked with the sauce. The sauce is so flavorful, perfect balance of sour, sweet and spices. It was my favorite. The pizza is okay, my husband is not a fan because there is too much sauce that some part of the pizza is undercooked and the center is extremely soggy though flavor wise, was really good. I bet if the dough was done, it would be a really great pizza considering how good the bone was.

The Grandma Pizza is hands down my favorite pizza in New Orleans. Their chicken parm hero is incredible. I love this place- most underrated spot in nola

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this delightful mom and pop Italian pizza shop, and it was truly a culinary experience to remember. The menu offered a tempting array of authentic Italian dishes, and I couldn't resist starting with their meatballs which was bursting with flavor. For the main course, I opted for one of their traditional pizzas. It was clear that they take pride in their craftsmanship. The thin, crispy crust was the ideal canvas for the high-quality ingredients, and the sauce had that homemade taste that's hard to find these days. The toppings were generous, and each bite was a delightful blend of flavors. But it wasn't just the pizza that impressed me; their pasta dishes were equally exceptional. I tried their classic chicken parmasan, and it transported me straight to Italy. The creamy sauce, perfectly cooked pasta, and crispy chicken made for a heavenly combination. The service was warm and friendly, with the owners themselves taking care of us, which added to the overall charm of the place. They were more than happy to share stories about their family recipes and the history of the restaurant.if you're in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine that feels like a warm hug from Nonna, this mom and pop shop is a must-visit. It's a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered, and I can't wait to return to savor more of their delicious offerings. Buon appetito!

Crazy Italian expanded its original location. It definitely has a North East Pizza Parlor vibe. It’s relatively hidden at the end of Harrison Ave., but definitely worth the trip. The pizza is NY style and the owner uses fantastic ingredients to include NY bottled water he has shipped down to make the dough. His attention to detail and tribute to the style of pizza he makes shows with every bite.

I’ve been looking for a place I would feel comfortable bringing family form big pizza hubs, and found it. Closest thing to Italy you could get. After speaking with the owner, realized that everything is authentic Italian. Whether it’s the bolognese( which veal is used as the sweetener) no idea that it would do that. The sausage is made and shipped straight from Italy. The chicken parm pizza is to die for. Overall it’s the best pizza in New Orleans. Truly blessed to have found this place .
