“I have been wanting to try Addis Nola for years but never got around to going. This weekend that changed and I hate that I haven't gotten there sooner. I enjoyed everything from the service to the food. We went early evening but by the time we were wrapping up every table in the building was occupied and understandably so, the food is delicious. We started with the collard green sambusas which were sooo good. The dipping sauce that came with it was the perfect finishing touch. For the entree we ordered a shared the whole fried snapper, which was the best fried fish I've ever had, so juicy and well seasoned. We also had the Mar mitmita shrimp which was delicious, spicy but paired well with the jasmine rice. We also had spinach tibs which was great. We finished the meal with the bread pudding which a great finishing touch to a perfect meal. I hate I didn't take any pictures but I was too busy enjoying the food, the pics won't do the flavor justice anyway. Just try it, you will not regret it!“
“I had the $20 single protein with 3 sides. I had the crabless cakes, macaroni, brussel sprouts and potatos. Everything tasted really seasoned and sear just right. I also had a lemon ginger tea ? I like the sweetness of the tea with the gentle ginger .I like the music they play.“
“Both Uber drivers asked me how I found this place and it’s because I searched for black owned restaurants. Also because they felt the place is new, they didn’t know about it. They had good pictures, so I was eager to try. The fried catfish and shrimp basket was delicious. The homemade fries are a winner. They forgot the hush puppies, but when I went back in, they added them. The hush puppies are basic small, so they could have kept them, lol. They didn’t offer any other fish options, just catfish. There were only three groups in the store, and it took about 35 minutes for our food to come out. They have a pizza oven in there, which is weird, considering they don’t sell pizza, she mentioned it’s built into the location, so I imagine it cost too much to take out. I ordered the $13 stew chicken lunch special. Great price and It was great with rice and the cabbage was good also with sausage in it. They don’t have servers for dying in even though you can eat in which is fine. The cashier was nice and helpful. The atmosphere is OK and in a good location. Not a super large menu, but adequate. I’d come back here and recommend this place to others. The wait time, forgetting the hush puppies, and only having one type of fish, almost dropped it down to a four star but I am very full and everything was flavorful, so I can’t complain about what I ordered and ate today. Definitely try the fish and shrimp basket as well as the stew chicken. They were great. Can’t tell you about parking as we were dropped off in an Uber“
“Let me start by saying the guy who greeted me was extremely rude. He was rude to both me & the bar tender. Very pushy & bossy. He gave me Karen vibes lol. The food: I ordered the Crawfish Etoufee with a side of potato salad. Let me start by saying it does have more of a tomato base , so if that's not your thing, this is not for you. I, on the other hand, don't mind a tomato based etoufee. It was good. The potato salad, on the other hand, I was not a fan of. It's hard to really explain it, but it was on the drier side and needed some seasonings, more mayo, idk something though. The crab cakes & boudin balls were ok. My mom loved them so much. She said they're a 10/10. I had them the next day (re-heated) and I wasn't too excited about them. They have an aftertaste. I can't really explain it, but they're just not for me. I still recommend them, as I didn't try them fresh. Lastly, my favorite part! The BREAD PUDDING!! This was the most amazing bread pudding that I've had in a long time. I travel all over & try bread puddings. This 100% was the best. My only complaint is... the slice just wasn't big enough Also, the guy that was bar tending, made the best sweet & sour I've ever had. The most perfect balance of alcohol & mix.“
“This was our second time coming here! The alligator and etouffee dogs were really yummy and unique! Better than any normal hot dog. The etouffee fries were a bit too liquidy, and they could’ve put more meat, but we still enjoyed the concept. It wasn’t worth the $7, but it’s definitely something worth trying once.“
“Absolutely love this place. Finest quality food, freshly prepared to order. This is a mom and pop neighborhood gem with really good homemade food. The chicken parmesan is better than ANY fine Italian restaurant. Even the turkey poboy is slices of REAL turkey, not the thin, pressed turkey like most. The roast beef poboy is homemade and flavorful. Now my go to spot. You gotta try this hidden gem. No wonder they've been around for years!“
“The Chamber of Horrors is my absolute favorite sandwich ever! It's just a cold sandwich stacked with sliced meats and cheese and lettuce, tomato, etc. but it strikes a chord with me. Every time I go I tell myself to try something different but most times I wind up getting one. And a side of fries. I have tried other things and have never found anything to complain about. Koz's is a great example of the neighborhood restaurants that are scattered throughout New Orleans and the area. Place has been there forever. The family is running the business. He has passed away, but Koz himself was running the cash register every time I went there. Same crowd of regulars and locals is in there every day. A wide variety of menu items, daily specials, plate lunches, po-boys, fried seafood, and all that. Not all of it is good, but for the most part it is. Downsides - the place is old so it is a little dark and dingy. It gets crowded at times and then the service gets slow. The parking is scarce around but you can usually find a spot. Give them a shot. This is one place that I keep going back to. (If I want a Chamber of Horrors I do!)“
“My husband and I went here today for dinner around 6:30pm. There wasn’t many people, the old school music selection was great, and our server was really nice. We both got the half chicken and subbed our sides to okra and macncheese and greens and macncheese. We didn’t wait long for our food and it was HOT and DELICIOUS when it finally arrived. The chicken had a great flavor as well as the sides. The macncheese is creamy and cheesy. I will definitely be back!“
“This is an amazing place! I ordered through doordash and ordered the chicken sandwich, yuca fries and the fried mushrooms and Wow!! First the chicken sandwich was super big and delicious. But honestly everything was amazing.. Spiced right and I mean barely could get my mouth over it. Soooo good. You definitely get your money's worth 100%. I was in town for the weekend and by far the best meal I had the entire weekend. Thanks for the wonderful meal.“
“Had the pleasure of meeting the owner Juan- he's a solid guy and amazing chef. I let him choose my dinner and it was extremely far from disappointing. He made me spaghetti with his homemade sauce and a side of fried veal. Such a simple meal yet taste was beyond simple. What also made the food taste better was the excellent customer service Juan provided. He's passionate about his craft and that's a wonderful thing to see in person. Bless you Juan and good luck !“
