The food was fresh out and delicious! I would 10/10 recommend the shrimp and homeade tarter sauce

food was outstanding my shrimp was cooked perfectly seasoned just right with a touch of heat and I love their coleslaw. Restaurant itself is little funky. I can see why a lot of people came in and took their food and go, but they were very happy that help us with our party of six and even brought the food out to the table where we were waiting. Don't be put off by its exterior. It's a good place to have a great taste of Louisiana food.

The food is pretty good. You have to show a lot of patience when waiting on your food especially when it's crowded. This is for from a fast food joint. But, it's the best you are going to get on Monkhouse.

Old, short hair black lady at the counter was Very rude. The place is very run down, bathroom area looked terrible and run down as well. Only the men’s bathroom was available, women’s was out of order. Also, you have to get a key from the front to use a bathroom that’s far away in a weird area. You don’t find that out til you’ve already traveled across the building that you have use the men’s bathroom and have a key! Also, the restaurant is inside a shabby run down looking motel. That along with her rudeness about the bathroom that I couldn’t use anyway I left that rundown place expeditiously! Will never look their way ever again!

The fish was good but the sides were bland. Woman on register seemed agitated like I did her something. Maybe having a bad day but that isn't the customer fault. Maybe we'll try another day but this the 2nd time just the meat was good but sides weren't.

Had popcorn shrimp with fries! WOW not expecting the amazing food. Amazing super down to earth and friendly. Food tasted so amazing. Shrimp was bigger than any popcorn shrimp I've ever eaten. Fries had seasoning on them that popped.

I had to go to shrevework on a business trip. And ultimately I did not have a very good experience overall. Initially I went 21 restaurant it was treated so rudely that I just left. I was told by a local that there was another restaurant that I should try out. And it was monk house seafood. I put it in the g p s and I made it. Kind of disappointed in my whole experience in Shreveport. Up to this point I was greeted by a friendly gentleman behind the desk. Who could obviously tell that I wasn't in the best of spirits. He imparted some very kind words to me and assured me that while I was there , I would be treat it like family. The menu wasn't exactly what I expected. It to be but I had traveled so far , that I decided that I would get something. I got a bowl of gumbo which was served with rice and he brought it to my table. The gumbo was okay. And I wasn't disappointed with it. However , the gentleman that was at the front desk was very kind to me and probably the most kind and positive person that I met in my entire time in shreveport. He really made my day. I don't remember the gentleman's name but I do remember that he was haitian. I told him that if I was ever back that way again , that I would definitely come back just because of the experience that I had.

Food located near airport. Catfish was tasty, oysters okay, coleslaw always open to new flavors had raisins in it. Tartar sauce was really good (homemade?). I thought oysters would have tasted better if right out of the fryer. Cashier a little absent. I had to remind her of condiments, dessert ordered and ice, although paid in advance. Looking at my ticket when filling bag may have helped her. Not a fancy place..you could miss if wasn't for large logo on front.

Don't let the look or area deceive you. This is the source of some very fine, genuine southern cooking. Fish was delicious, as was the coleslaw and ettoufee. Service was excellent. Plenty for the money and very good. They seemed to do a booming take-out business.
