Forget the touristy places that sell you "awesome local dishes" that no local would touch. Here you eat where the locals eat what the locals eat. This is a small village living room sprawling with locals sipping their Bud after a long day's work.

Mid afternoon, missed lunch, hungry and just wanted good food. This restaurant was outstanding, we had planned on just ordering shrimp on a bun and fish and shrimp in a box. The waitress suggested we try their gumbo. Everything was very good, but the gumbo was spectacular, perfect consistency, smooth clean flavors. Non of the gumbos I’ve had thus far in LA even came close. It is a must try. Sincerely
