“We visited Spuddy for his Cajun Cooking experience (personal cooking lesson). We made Andouille Sausage from scratch. We cooked Jambalaya, Gumbo and Smothered Okra. The food was amazing and the experience with Spuddy was unforgettable. This is a great thing do do when you visit the plantations.”
“I ate a 3-day old cheeseburger that had been bought for my granddaughter. The spices were excellent and the patty itself was “large”. Overall excellent sandwich.”
“Would we recommend? Absolutely!A historic, large, & luxurious plantation full of dark history - history nonetheless. The lives impacted by this operation is truly saddening to contemplate! Eerily, as we walked onto the property, we felt a profound awareness of what tragedy transpired on the grounds! We toured the mansion/house, and as we walked among the homes of the slaves and the mighty oak trees on the ally, we pondered, "If these trees or walls could talk"!”
“My husband and I stopped on Wednesday early evening. We split the meat lovers pizza and house salad, which were delicious. We had the bread pudding to-go (wish we had gotten a double order). It is a local place with delicious food and great service. It was our first time eating there since they reopened (Hurricane Ida). It will definitely be a regular dinner spot.”
“This was an excellent stop after our tour. My husband and I shared the Cajun medley after sharing swamp fries. Both were very good. We also had the mint juleps. Hard to beat a KY mint julep. The weather was perfect so we were able to sit outside. Great stop!”
“Delicious! We arrived late for lunch at about 2:00. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. The owner even came out to greet us. I didn't ask if she was responsible for all of the great recipes, but I can see the love in her eyes and her passion for feeding people well. There was all kinds of food available to purchase and cook at home as well. Local fish, shrimp, frog legs, smoked rabbit, sausage, and more. I only wish I had more room in my belly!Kid-friendliness: Great for kids”
“Some of the world's best daiquiris as proven by extensive government research on the topic. My current favorite is the notorious Blue Explosion which contains both Crown Royal and Diesel (190 proof). Order at the drive-through window and taste any of the flavors before you commit. Be sure to keep one hand firmly on the wheel while operating your automobile. It's just good drive 'n daiq' etiquette.”
“The food and service were awesome. Hope they start offering more of the Champs sides than they do now. Then they would be the only place to go to for fast delicious food”
“Went on a Friday night. The place was full. Even with a full house, service was quick and very good. Server was very courteous. Food was well prepared and tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend.”
“Food is amazing, hot, fresh and timely. The service was great and very friendly. The building it self is almost hidden in visuals that it's a restaurant. It's interior is old and outdated but it gives cafeteria vibes. But the food makes you forget all those things.Parking: Gravel section to left of the building.”
“Wow!! From a Texas boy this place is the spot dude!!! Gumbo full of flavor, the fish was super tasty and juicy! The shrimp just how I like Em’ not over cooked! Highly recommend!! I love Louisiana food!”
“There is not much in this cute little town. Fatty's is a great place for lunch. You will have a crowd till a little past 12:00 noon. Many plant worker flock here for their daily lunch. You will not go away hungry. We love the shrimp po boy with the large shrimp we split it with fries. Their hamburgers are great. They also sell cocktails. So come on down.”
“Good food, pleasant setting, good prices, but nothing to write home about. The day I went they had run out of hot sausage and other menu items so I settled for a roast beef poboy. It was okay. I'll try it again next time I'm in the neighborhood and see if my opinion changes.”
“Nice quiet bar for the locals. You can grab a cold beer and be surrounded by sports and great conversation. Great drink specials daily and free pool on Tuesdays and Sunday's. I hear the bartenders are pretty great too😎.”
“I heard Rob and his body came here after they had Ceviche in Miami in their Cabana. So I had to go check it out. Great place and even Snarf Snarf OBanion who can be picky with food enjoyed what he got.”
“I've just started going to this bar everybody there is very friendly and I always have a good time and relax that's the main reason I go there far is to relax and when I leave there I'm very relaxed”
“We visited Crevasse on April 14, 2023 for lunch. They have been on our ‘have to try’ list for quite some time, but they recently changed ownership. The facility itself is wonderfully rustic and housed in a very old building that has a long history of varied uses over the decades. The beautiful drive along River Road is the perfect pre-meal gift offered to all who make the wise choice to visit. We arrived early (as we often do) so did not encounter any ‘lunch rush’. The menu is not extensive, but there are adequate choices to please most anyone, including a “kids’ menu”. We were immediately greeted and seated. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. They do a daily lunch special, and there were two options today. Each special includes a generous house salad as well as a dessert (with ice cream as an option) My wife and I each ordered one of the menu specials, with water as our beverage of choice. My wife ordered the crab cake and fried shrimp (3). The specials were served with fries. The crab cake and the shrimp were done very well with nice seasoning and full flavor. The crab patty had a good balance of crab meat and “stuffing”, and was delicious. I ordered the fish and shrimp plate. I was served two nice-sized pieces of fried fish as well as fried shrimp (3). The portions on the sides of fries are adequate, while not the over-sized type you often see when a restaurant is trying to ‘fill the plate’ and falls victim to the quantity over quality path. The fries were obviously hand cut, very freshly fried and delicious. My wife order the vanilla ice cream as her dessert. I passed on the peach cobbler, since I was more than satisfied with my meal and didn’t need the calories. Overall, we had a very positive experience and look forward to visiting again and inviting family and friends to join us.”
“Lunch was half a fried shrimp poboy with some gumbo. The sandwich was good as was the gumbo. Friendly staff. Interesting local place worth grabbing lunch at if you are in the area.”
“Great little spot, homemade daiquiri's are seriously good. The beer is some of the coldest I've ever had. They have a screened in back porch that is really nice complete with flatscreens that always have the game on and sometimes there's live music..a hidden gem if I do say so myself..”
“Friendly staff. Candy will take care of you..local bar with deep Cajun flare. They're in the process of repairing the restaurant. Good home-cooked south Louisiana delights...”
“First time customer. Solid lunch spot. Food was hot and good service. We got a grilled chicken sandwich and the Monday special (jambalaya with white beans). Only negative was the little side piece of sausage that comes with the jambalaya was just ok.”
“I've visited this spot every year for the last 7 years for the Christmas Eve bonfires. They serve food (chili, mac & cheese, chips, jambalaya) and have a live band with a cover for the night's festivities. It's always a comfortable temperature, depending on the weather outside and is a nice escape from the traffic and folks outside. Great spot to grab a cheap beer or mixed drink before heading out to the bonefires. Bathrooms aren't big, but they're clean! Definitely a dive bar - definitely a smoky bar.”
“The service was good, but I had disappointing news, they will no longer carry the seafood, crab meat,or whatever U call it in not fair there should have been a servery done,I think it sucks they just might loose me, with my spinach wrap and seafood ?”
“What a great little place. Most places today were closed because of the cold. 30degrees is not cold. Had the Cajun baked potato along with soup and salad. Great all around. If you're close head their way”
“A little gem of a restaurant. Family friendly. Great staff. They made several recommendations. They were all great. Popper, Annie's burger, chicken and shrimp salad. Reasonably priced.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access”
