Superior Italiana!! Lovely servers. Loud dining room… so jump in and raise your glass and your volume. The wait is totally worth it.

We have enjoyed Mosca’s many times in the past. Tonight they were out of unsweetened ice tea, crab meat salad, filets. The food we ordered was good. Then we went to order the pineapple fluff and they were out of that also.It was a let down for sure

The website menu items and pricing is out of date. The Crab salad does not contain much crab..get the regular salad. One salad is good for 3 people. The Oyster Mosca and Shrimp Mosca are must get selections. The pasta and red sauce, too. Last night, the Chicken a la Grande was overdone..pass on this item. I was disappointed they did not have Sangiovese ( on their website menu)....they substituted a Cab Sauv. The pineapple fluff is a rather unusual item. If you email them for something other than reservations, do not expect a response. This is a place to go to with a small group in order to share items ( serving is family style.)

Incredible! My favorites were the Oysters Mosca, chicken cacciatore and the spaghetti and meatballs, but everything was amazing.

Excellent family style Italian restaurant in an old house outside the city. Get the chicken, get the spaghetti, get the oysters and a glass of wine, pick apart some bread and pass it all around the table.

Mosca's is one of those unique, iconic New Orleans restaurants. Old, funky, but always an interesting place to eat. The menu is small and the fare is standard oily Italian, but oh so good when everything is available. This Saturday there was no crab for the crab salad. This was due to the price of crab and not wanting to have to charge customers the exorbitant price. This was too bad, as this is their signature salad. My only real suggestion is that they need to undercook the shrimp a little more so the shells are not so difficult to get off. The pineapple fluff has and always will be one of my favorite desserts anywhere. My complements to Mary Jo Mosca and her staff for hanging in there and carrying on her families tradition.

Food was below average and way overpriced. Our guests were visiting from out of state and I had to apologize to them for recommending Moscas. The food that we got there is not representative of New Orleans in any way and I was embarrassed for the poor quality. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Pretty tasty place. Cash only and there will be a long wait for your food.

We have gone to New Orleans several times around Christmas and tried to eat at Mosca's, but they are often closed for the holidays. They have several rules of operation and reservations are required. You should call the restaurant or email for reservations. Their system seems to work and they respond. They only take cash. And they are several miles from downtown which means travel needs some planning. They have a note on the website to make sure to arrange transportation home before you come. They are really out in the country in an old building and not much around. If you drive GPS can find the place however, but if you come by Uber or taxi you must plan ahead. They open at 5 pm and we arrived about 15 minutes early. There was one car waiting. Mosca's looked deserted, but when they opened the door at 5 it was soon quite full. It was full by 6 midweek. The place is rustic and unchanged since 1946. The staff are helpful and do an excellent job. But not much help is needed. The menu is short and the service is prompt and helpful. We had salad and bread, good red wine, oysters Mosca and shrimp Mosca and spaghetti. It was wonderful. The oyster dish was excellent and unlike anything I had ever had. The shrimp were also good but very different from the oysters. There is also chicken on the menu but that would have been too much. We had plenty to eat and ate plenty. This was a wonderful evening and we were happy to finally try the place. I would recommend the food and the experience but there are a lot of easier to find restaurants closer. However. Oysters Mosca is one of a kind and worth the effort.

Went with a group of people. Everything was excellent and extremely reasonable prices. Just ask your server what to get. They will not steer you wrong.

I haven't walked in those doors in 15 years and I swear absolutely nothing has changed. The same perfect service ,everyone actually cares .Every server stops to ask if you need anything -there is no traditional sections -everyone is equal concerned your experience is perfect . Salad is fresh and flavorful but their entrees are the star. Shrimp Mosca - tender perfectly peeling seasoned with white wine and garlic but my favorite will always be the chicken a la grande . Yes it takes a while but it's cooked fresh and that short wait is so worth the flavor explosion . Two glass of wine or a couple of beer will deliver one of the greatest dish's -so worth the wait to allow the kitchen to serve perfection in a platter. The chicken is tender bursting with garlic , wine so incredibly rich if you are wanting to experience old charm of New Orleans take the drive to the country you won't be disappointed. Tonight it was impossible to have enough room for their pineapple dessert but wish I could have I remember it was delicious....

Came down to New Orleans from Boston for a long weekend. My wife had done a lot of research and Mosca's was one of the restaurants she found. We were not disappointed. Different than the Northern Italian we're used to but delicious. Generous portions and LOTS of garlic! The wait staff share all the tables so you'll have a variety of servers taking care of you. All very nice and friendly. We traveled with some friends so we had a lot of food to share. The restaurant itself was very unassuming, but don't let that discourage you from going. They don't accept credit cards, so make sure you bring cash.

Phenomenal. It tasted like a home cooked meal. The entire experience felt like we were at a family gathering, and Nana was in the kitchen. We are definitely gonna be going back. You gotta make a reservation though, so check their website and call ahead.
