Was super excited to go here and got the biggest disappointment upon arrival. Walked around looking for the entrance which I never found. The black awning in the picture doesn't say Kaiju on it anymore and I called 5 times hoping they would answer and it just kept going to voice-mail. They never answer the phone even between 4-8pm. Waste of time

The bartender was very knowledgeable and the drinks were pretty good. This place should not be advertising as serving bbq though because they do not serve bbq. They serve fatty meat that they stated they spray a Smokey flavor on. The meats are not smoked. I didn’t try the other food, but it looked pretty good. Just don’t order the “bbq”.

I think this place was hit pretty hard from covid. A lot of great reviews but I went the other day and it was just okay. They give you a cold ramen making kit for you to heat yourself which was an easy enough process would’ve liked to have warm/hot fresh broth. Price is a little high for a diy ramen that tastes so-so.

We were really excited to try Kaiju. We were nervous about going because of COVID and it's in a basement and a small space, but we saw we could order a ramen take home kit. And actually, right now everything is takeout. We got four orders of vegetarian ramen that is advertised as vegan, and some extra noodles. The ramen is good, it's just not the kind of ramen I wanted. Additionally, we ordered one ramen to have extras--an egg, some crispies, some extra scallions, some spicy sauce. All were good, except they put an egg in every ramen box. This would not be a big issue, but the egg is somewhat runny and overflowed a little, and my husband is vegan. So he got egg yolk on his noodles, some fungus, and maybe some bok choy. Fortunately we were able to use the extra noodles and he could pick around the toppings to ensure he got egg-free toppings. But this was disappointing. The ramen: while tasty was quite sweet. The broth was oily, which some people would rate as delicious and others might see as too oily. But they served it with miso-roasted sweet potato (sweet) and stewed bamboo shoots that seem to have been marinated in a very sugary sauce. The overwhelming sugar was not exactly what we were looking for. I think the sweet potato was a bit of a meat substitute, rather than tofu, but I think I would have preferred a savory tofu to a sweet sweet potato. The noodles are fat, and they do provide a good amount, so much that the broth seems barely sufficient to cover the noodles and toppings. I really wanted to like this place, and the idea of vegan ramen being readily available was so exciting, but the extra eggs (which normally would be seen as a great freebie) were not helpful, and the sweetness made it just not quite as enjoyable. I would be willing to bet that when they re-open for eat-in dining, the experience will be quite different, but I still won't love the sweetness of the ramen.

Great food parking can be tough at times if there's events going on in the center of Amherst they are open lunches right now even though Google says they aren't and the entrance for the pickups is a set of stairways leading downstairs like you're going to a basement to the right of Johnny's

Couldn't even find the entrance walked the whole building twice!!!! called 3 times and no one answered that's ridiculous.

Delicious food with incredible vegan options, lunch specials are a little more affordable as well! Rotating menu which is awesome but I miss some of the ramen they have had before!

yuzu lemonade: acidic and salty. 0 sweetness. The waitress told us it is how American lemonade tastes like. Thank you for your attitude, will not come back.

Everything we tried on the menu was delicious. They had a "Snack" section on the menu that had some great choices. Good location and we liked the ambience.

The service was good and we had a wonderful space where we could stay long. It was a very enjoyable time to have a beer while having some noodles and okonomiyaki. However, Takoyaki was a Takoyaki-flavored french fries(^^;)

We got the Kaiju ramens with shoyu and miso broth. Food came out pretty quickly but was absolutely not worth the price. Noodle texture was good but the broths were extremely salty - the shoyu broth had a bitter aftertaste and the miso didn't taste like..miso? Didn't even finish our food, would definitely recommend driving an extra 15 min to Easthampton for better ramen.
