I’m from Texas. Before Mexcalito opened, the only Mexican food I would eat was from another restaurant in Amherst. Mexcalito is even better than that one! The atmosphere is fantastic. Just wish they had tortilla soup. :0)
The highlight here is the menu - they have a wide variety of tacos for very reasonable prices. I could see it being a good standby, especially for a quick lunch or late night eats. The food is good but not great: fish and Al Pastor tacos were good, carne asada taco was a bit off. The mojito tasted weird, more like a margarita made from a mix than an actual mojito. The bartenders were hilarious. They really like to make people laugh. You must try the fried cheese appetizer Queso Fundido, we ate it before I could take a picture. It was so amazingly good. I love extremely spicey flavors I always ask for their spiciest salsas - the sauces are to die for.Parking: Depending on the night, there may be no parking or lots of parking. They are usually free after 6 or 8 pm
