Expect to stand in line for 50 minutes to buy a loaf of bread. Provides 1980s Russia experience in buying basic food staples. Any sensible business, let alone bakery would make sure customers don't stand in line for 50 minutes to buy a loaf of bread. That's not a badge of

Moved to Arlington a year ago and stumbled upon Breadboard while walking one Sunday morning. I try not to miss going on a day I’m home and they’re open. If you want the best bread, croissants, cake slices, or any baked treat, Breadboard is the place to go. Plus, they’re the only place I’ve found in MA that has kolaches (imagine a doughnut but better) that remind me of my time in Texas. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

Recently relocated and thrilled to discover this fantastic, authentic bakery just a block away! As a sourdough enthusiast, the olive bread here is unparalleled – moist, brimming with flavorful green olives, and boasting perfect crusts with a hint of caramel. It stands out on its own without any additional spreads or toppings. Even my partner, who isn't usually a fan of sourdough, took a huge slide. Also got croissants and other pastries, all 100/10.Our dog also received a treat, which he enjoyed so much that he held onto and finish it until we got home.

My pup, friends and I go there all the time. This used to be a hidden gem, no longer hidden. As these days there is always a que outside. The best bread in entire Boston, perfect crust and moist. Croissants are also perfectly crusty outside but soft inside. And their burnt basque? Oh boy. Aaand, my pup always gets his treatos from them. No idea why people say unfriendly in the review? They are very busy for sure.

I decided to check out Breadboard Bakery because I was already in Arlington for Butternut Bakehouse, and the two places are within five minutes of one another.I went ten minutes after opening, and there was already a line, but it moved relatively quickly. The menu is cutely displayed on a clothesline by the door, which is also where you order. I was bummed that we weren't allowed to go in and actually see and smell the pastries, as that is part of the fun of visiting bakeries.I got the glazed cinnamon roll, chocolate croissant, cranberry kolache, and cream cheese kolache (which is also the order in which I'd rank them from most to least favorite). The cinnamon roll had a nice flakiness, and the glaze was addictively but not overwhelmingly sweet. The chocolate croissant was interesting because there were thin chocolate bars that lined the inside instead of melted chocolate. (Granted, the chocolate did melt when I reheated it, and it tasted better that way. Maybe that is the expectation, but the croissant loses some of its flaky goodness when reheated.) The cranberry and cream cheese kolaches also tasted better reheated, but they were just okay overall. There wasn't much of a difference between the two; the cranberry one just had a plop of cranberry jam on top. Had I known, I would have tried a fourth pastry instead of a second kolache.

Daisy's baked goods are to die for. No matter what you get, you will not be disappointed.Be sure to order one or two kolaches for the car/walk home since they are so good.During the non-summer months, be sure to buy croissants and the amazing cinnamon rolls. They adjusted their hours during COVID and kept them. If you want something specific, visit their website and pre-order online, otherwise the menu is first come first serve. The beautiful drawings of the food are taken down out of the window, so you know what what is in stock when you walk up.Very close to Arlington Center but far enough that you do not need to pay for parking - bonus!PS If you want to buy full loaves of bread, they freeze amazingly well in plastic bags, so you can stock up and enjoy Breadboard when you want.

It’s all good… the seeded sourdough I consider the signature specialty. Utterly magnificent. An essential appurtenance to The Good Life. When you first slice into it, the angels sing. Ideally you will have one or more loved ones on hand to experience it with you. This is one of life’s most beautiful moments. A BLT? Sure! Cheese with mayo and lots of romaine? Fantastic!! Etc. PB&J? Deluxe! The second most amazing thing is how well the loaf maintains its freshness if you treat it right — don’t have it presliced unless you plan to eat the whole thing immediately, for starters. I expect a cult is being founded centered on The Seeded Sourdough as its primary sacrament. Nuff said?

Nice little traditional bakery with excellent offerings

The sourdough rules, but don’t miss out on the biscuit!

Breadboard is a gift from the Baking Gods. The seeded sourdough is the Platonic ideal—soft tangy interior with a crunchy, heavily-seeded crust. The cookies and muffins are such treats—and not too saccharine sweet. I wait all year for the pan de muerto to come back each October. I’m in the restaurant business and know what it takes to maintain such high standards and consistency—many thanks to the Breadboard crew!!

This is only review of their bread. Few weeks ago I’d give them a 5 star review, but something happened and 3x in a row I bought a bread that doesn’t have this crackly crust of a fresh baked bread. I hope they can fix this problem and bring the quality back.

This is a truly world-class bakery. It is not hyperbole to say you will not find better artisan bread, croissants, pastries, quiche (and more) anywhere else, and it's all tucked away in an unassuming storefront in Arlington staffed by the nicest people ever.

Paid close to 9 bucks for a quiche that was ice cold.I've been to a zillion bakeries, and I've never known for anyone to serve ice cold quiche. So disappointed
