I highly recommend this place! Super friendly service and fabulous food. We order the calamari fritti and lamb ragout pappardelle. Chocolate deserte and the best creme brûlée I have ever had! All reasonably priced.

Dined here tonight with friends and family. A colossal rip off. And a dump! My sister was appalled by the cracked toilet in the women's room (see pics). Our dinner order arrived incomplete. And the linguine with clams one of us ordered was served with half the clams unopened. Waitress was very nice and said the kitchen was having an off night. Gee thanks. Not worth the $$ we spent. We couldn't wait to leave. Stay away. We will.

This was one of those experiences where I kind of wish that the wait staff could write a review, because my friend and I had a weird experience. We were thinking afterwards that maybe we did something to offend. It was my second time here. I didn't make a reservation and forgot that on a Wednesday night at 6 there is the theater crowd. The host directed me to 2 seats at the end of the bar, and said it would be fine to eat there. Normally I like sitting at the bar, but these seats were not really at the bar. Rather, there was an extension of the bar top, and the seats faced the servers station. The bartender couldn't place a menu in front of me without sliding it across the bar top. Maybe things turned sour when I acted not pleased with the seats. I asked if it was possible to sit at a table in the bar area, but the one open was for 4 people (or so the bartender claimed - I later saw only 2 people sitting there and being served). When I didn't order a drink, I wasn't given water. My friend arrived and we adjusted the seats to not be facing the waiter station, and the bartender returned for my friend's drink order. We ordered (although when we weren't ready the first time we were asked, this seemed to annoy the bartender), got water, our dishes came out, etc. My meal was a little salty, but my friend liked hers. My water glass was not refilled during dinner, but my friend still had her wine. After finishing, we ordered tea, which came lukewarm - the bags weren't steeping at all. In clear glasses - why wouldn't anyone have noticed this? When we brought it up, it resulted in another unpleasant interaction with the bartender. The place was pretty cleared out by this time, and we expected the check so we could leave. We hadn't seen the bartender who served us so we asked another person behind the bar to get our check (please). The response was an odd statement, something along the lines of not knowing we wanted the check. We felt guilty not leaving any tip, so we did leave 15%. I don't think I'll be going here again.

Food was very good but I have to say I did get annoyed that I was served penne pasta instead of the Campanelle that the menu said would be used. Just wanted something a bit more special for the place and price. Anyway, it was tasty regardless and the scallops were especially good because of the combination of flavors. Wish the tables weren’t so close together so I would have room to move easily.

Saw the menu online and thought it had a nice variety and choices. What a great place. Bartender Jack was on point and friendly. Menu was amazing. Tried the Caprese salad and steak frites. Both very good. Vibe is laid back and comfortable. Good drink and wine list as well. Highly recommended.
I tried FRUTTA DI MARE $32.00. It has manila clams, scallops, shrimp, calamari, tomatoes, and pappardelle pasta. The dish in general is ok. I've tried better and cheaper ones in north end. Based on other diners, the swordfish seems to be pretty good here.

A neighborhood gem. We visited Boston for a week and found this place on the internet. So pleased we did. We wanted to go back for lunch on our last day but it was not open yet. Gluten free options & many other delicious options! Thank you from Canada!

I have to be honest with all of you! This happens to be the best establishment known to man! I walked in here thinking "wow this is going to be just another bar that is gonna take my money and not be a real experience" but wow was I wrong. I walked in and was immediately greeted by one of the most homely people in the world. That person was grace ! Not only was she incredible easy to talk to and friendly, but she made the most perfect drinks. She understood my jumbled orders and perfected them! I had multiple genuine conversations with grace and she has honestly made my night! She takes the time to personally make connections with the people she tends to and treats me like a guest instead of someone she is tending on. She made me feel like a regular and someone who is a part of the 49 social family! She has given me an experience like no other! Not only grace, but julia was also a huge factor in this surreal experience! She talked to me the whole night and made my stomach hurt from laughing so much. If any of you are down and need someone to talk to you need to see this girl! She is a riot! Anyways, my experience here has been top notch and that was achieved due to the amazing staff of 49 social. My overall review of this place is 5 stars. If I could rate it higher I would. I can honestly say that I will be coming here a lot more and I hope to see you all here! Thanks for reading -Paul
