A friend just moved to Roslindale and we found the Blue Star. I had thought the restaurants like this had been chased away. This is good food, prepared quickly and there's always a cup of coffee. She had the corned beef hash and I the blue berry pancakes. Both were delicious. Service was insanely speedy and really nice. If you need a no pretense place for breakfast -- this is the place. Amazing.
Lots of people who can get the job done without the distractions and a good breakfast that was affordable before 99% of businesses auto inflated their prices. I’m not really looking but this place seems very stable as far as pricing goes and the quality of food and service has been 9 of 10 for around 30 years now. Maybe more. This is a cute little diner! The service was friendly and fast, food was delicious, and super reasonably priced. We had a large group and had struggled to find a place with enough seating, but they got us right in and it was great!
