Very good sushis, very good service. If you are a group, consider the party platters or sushi boat, you won't regret it.

Be careful with ordering food. They need to update their prices on the menu. Very misleading. Spent about 50% more than shown.

We did not even tried the food. In the way to the toilet my friend slipped and fell in the stairs and the toilet floor was also very slippery, as if it had oil or soap all over it. We decided to leave right after the incident.

I have ordered from this business while at work and they were fast, efficient, and handled our multiple orders well and didn't forget anything. Would highly recommend!

The food was good, but they gave us a menu with different prices. We realized about this when they brought us the bill and they did not consider this.

There was nobody upstairs but they could not give me a table because I was by myself. Makes no sense.

So disappointed! We love the Davis location and the Brookline location of Genki Ya so we were excited to grab a quick bite before a show. We gave ourselves an hour and a half to get our food and get over to our show (a 5 min walk) and it took over 15 minutes after they seated us (with reservation!!) before anyone even came by to take our order and we had to flag someone down for that. After that it took another half hour for our food to arrive. This left us with less than half an hour before our show to eat our food, have our drinks, and pay. On top of this, we were not told there was a large party fee of 20%. We were only 5 people and at most places this fee kicks in at 6 people. Due to the inattentive and slow service we were planning on tipping 15% but weren't even given the option. Our server practically ran away from us and only checked in when we tried to flag him down so we didn't even get to raise any of our concerns. So disappointing as the other locations have been favorites for us! Probably never returning to the downtown one after this sour and expensive experience.

Some of the best sushi we’ve ever had in our lives, and top of that it’s great value! The service was super fast, and the view of the top floor is quite nice. The alligator roll and the spicy king crab roll were the absolute best! Will certainly go again!

I love this place! This place had very good food. The food was unique and very flavorful. It was bussin and gas. It was the bomb, the vibes were mad straight. I had a bonkers experience. I cant express how much i Loved this bussin a$$ food. I will come back here once a week and keep on supporting this busiuness.

Delicious sushi, but everything came in separate plastic packages, which created too much plastic waste. Could you please try to fit more in one container to reduce this in the future?

In town for work and ate here twice. Miso soup, salmon roll and rainbow roll. Sushi was super fresh and miso soup was just what was needed on a chilly night. Prices were lower than expected.

I can't speak to their sushi, but if you go to Genki Ya, I would recommend avoiding their nabeyaki udon. The positives: the portion was massive, and it filled me up before I was done the meal. I also thought that their shrimp and yam tempura were well-cooked and seasoned. That being said, I can't recommend anyone order the nabeyaki udon until the dish undergoes significant changes. The broth was overly salty, the chicken was overcooked and tough, and the vegetables were undercooked. Also, where nabeyaki udon normally has a soft-boiled egg, the egg they included in the dish was overcooked with a rubbery texture and no runny yolk.As for service, I found that the service was quick and efficient; however, when I was about to pay, one of the waitresses suddenly left the floor for about 10 minutes with no backup support. While this isn't a lot of time in the grand scheme of things, I still felt like this could have been avoided had adequate coverage been available.Overall, it sounds like people like sushi here, so if that's your prerogative, then feel free to follow other reviews on this page. But if you feel like going for an udon, then I'd suggest looking at other places because I didn't feel that the quality of the udon nor the service I received was worth the price that I paid.

There's nothing worse than ordering food and the food not being fresh and having a stale taste to it. It's so disappointing and on top of that I wasted $55 that could have went to something else. Never again will I order from here. I ordered through Uber eats last night. I literally couldn't even eat more than one piece of sushi it was that bad! Can't believe they are even in business with this type of stale sushi. :((
