Don’t think about it, don’t pass go, don’t collect $200…go get your dang perfect slice.“

“I write reviews all the time, and I visit a lot of restaurants, so I’m not easily impressed. But this place truly deserves every one of these five stars.
I normally don’t like restaurant pizza and hadn’t eaten pizza in over a year because I could never find one that I genuinely enjoyed. Then today I tried the O’ Cheese Parm Pizza here, and wow—I finally found a pizza I absolutely love! The onion rings were incredible too.
What impressed me even more was the service. Every employee was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can teach people how to serve food, but you can’t teach genuine kindness—and this place has it.
The food was amazing, but honestly, even if it hadn’t been, the outstanding customer service alone would make me want to come back. That’s how good the staff are.

At this point, I’m convinced they should start charging me rent.

Jade is the absolute best. She’s one of those people who can somehow make your day better just by being herself. Whether it’s recommending a wine I’d never think to order, talking me through the menu when decision fatigue has completely taken over, or making an absolutely perfect French 75, she somehow always knows exactly what I need. She has this effortless way of making everyone at the bar feel like a regular, and you can tell she genuinely cares about the people who walk through the door. She’s one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back.

And then there is Ty. Some of my favorite visits turn into conversations with him. We can talk about just about anything, and somehow he always has the perfect mix of humor, perspective, and genuine interest. It’s never just small talk. It’s the kind of conversation that makes you forget you walked in exhausted after work, and before you know it, your whole day is better.

Chris is always quick to say hi when he sees me, which is one of those little things that makes you feel welcome before you’ve even sat down.

Ann rounds out my dream team behind the bar. Between Ann, Jade, and Ty, I’ve discovered wines I never would’ve ordered on my own, had more laughs than I can count, and have never once felt like just another customer. Whether I stop in early or after a long day at work, they always make me feel like I’m exactly where I should be.

Jilllllll and Angela are always happy to commiserate with me about whatever kind of day I’ve had. And in the interest of full disclosure… while I was literally writing this review, one of them popped up behind me and scared the life out of me. I couldn’t have planned that timing if I tried.

Now let’s talk about the food.

I’ve honestly never had a bad meal here. Every single thing I’ve ordered has been outstanding, but if I had to pick a favorite, the beef cheek is absolutely unreal. Every plate arrives with a refined flair that somehow manages to feel elevated without ever feeling pretentious. It’s comfort food that decided to put on a tailored suit.

The Salty Pig has become more than a restaurant for me. It’s where I unwind after work, where decision fatigue magically disappears because someone always has the perfect recommendation, where I’ve learned to appreciate great wine, and where I know I’ll leave happier than I arrived.

To Jade, Ann, Ty, Chris, Jilllllll, Angela, and everyone else at The Salty Pig: thank you for making an incredible restaurant feel like home away from home. You all are the secret ingredient!!!!“

“My son is autistic. He very picky about food. Only likes pepperoni pizza. Right before closing I went to get my son 2 pizza slices. They only had steak and pepper slices left. I got 2 slices thinking if my son doesn't like it I'll eat it. I had to convince my son to try it once he did those slices were gone in record time. “Searched for brick oven pizza in the North End. This was one of the first ones to pop up and I remember it getting a high score and a good review from Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports pizza reviews. My girlfriend and her son both loved it too. Very generous with the toppings. Sauce is amazing and fresh tasting. Great crust too. Staff was friendly. Didn't take long either. The World Cup final was going on so the atmosphere was fun and going crazy when Spain scored.“

“This is a very tiny restaurant. Cafe-sized tables. May be better for amaro tasting instead of dinner. Menu was one page of food, 3-4 pages of drinks. We were greeted with confusion when we walked in and said we had a reservation made through Open Table. Ordered two IPA's but only one arrived - and not the one on the menu. They said this was the last IPA left. We ate prosciutto, fig, arugula pizza. Good enough, not great - fig jam, not figs; generous on ham, it was not prosciutto. No greens on the menu except Caesar salad so we shared one. It was ok. I prefer a lighter salad.“

“Started with their Eight Coconut stout - amazing! It was 11.5% abv but tasted so light. It did have coconut notes to it, was thick and syrupy. ($10 for 10oz pour)

For a pizza, I ordered their sweet dreams. ($17) I absolutely loved the ricotta on it. The crust was perfect; crisp, light and the hot honey seeped into the crust, making it somewhat juicy in a way.

However, I was disappointed by the amount of ricotta they put on it. The bites I had with it were my favorite and they could’ve been more generous. Instead, they absolutely doused it with the hot habanero honey. It was a pool on some pieces, a little too much, even though I like hot honey.

Cool atmosphere, mostly young adults in their 20s and 30s. Staff were okay, not overly friendly, just basic.

“Pizza was some of the best I have ever had and I have often ate pizza in NYC. Service was very good. We ate the pizza there, but it really is designed for pick up as there was limited seating. The area was clean but only 2 eating areas/tables. Our salads were very fresh and very good. Parking was difficult but its Boston so imagine that! Ideal to pick up from in my opinion.“

“Kicco coffee was a little hard to find but extremely worth it. Ordered some fresh bombolino (italian donuts) you can pick how you want it filled and it’s made fresh to order. We got the coffee cream and salted caramel both topped with chocolate. Safe to say we inhaled both. The coffee cream was so smooth and tasty I should’ve got a cup of it too. We ordered specialty lattes. The vanilla chocolate cream puff with an actual chocolate covered cream puff inside & the cannoli latte. The cannoli latte was topped with chocolate chip cannoli cream and a piece of cannoli shell. Both lattes were incredibly good. The fun part about this place is you can choose your espresso as well! The kicco blend was great inside the cannoli latte tons of flavor yet strong and bold espresso. Staff was super friendly. Would recommend“

“I absolutely LOVE this place. We have so many brunch options in the area, but THIS is the right choice remember I said it. The mini donuts are a dream. I literally dreamt about them 🤣 Brussel sprouts are mouth watering & the apple cinnamon pancakes are out of this world! The breakfast sandwich is on a cheddar biscuit… nuff said! The service was so outstanding I didn’t have to ask for anything! They made me feel like I was family 💜 I will be back for dinner, which is just as great as brunch but for brunch look no further! “I have 2 new favorites in Allston. One is a hotel and the other is Hobson’s. Great restuarant with a beautiful, comfortable, open interior, a friendly staff and good food. We had a pretty good size group (about 15) and started with apps, then moved on to a dinner including pizzas (get the meatball and ricotta), burgers, pasta and sausage. Drinks seemed to please everyone (though I stuck with the cider). The parking lot was also a nice plus. Highly recommended.“

“I am thoroughly impressed with this establishment. They are located on a very tight block with literally zero parking. That being said i think that is partly why they excel in literally every single category: food quality, Customer service, freshness. I made a very detailed ordered and this sub shop made it to the LETTER. even the drink cooler is the coldest I have ever experienced. Im not sure if this is new management or has always been this detailed but I am impressed and this is the best sub shop in the city! Amazing business you have.“

“PHENOMENAL subs. The crispy chicken Caesar sub lives up to its online hype. Perfect ratio of chicken to lettuce to parm to croutons. Not overstuffed / too hard to eat. I have gotten one on seeded sourdough and one on regular bread and definitely prefer the seeded sourdough to add that lovely sesame toasty flavor. And I have drooled over the thought of this sub many times since.

The tenders were so good in the sub I had to try them a la carte, they're juicy hot and BOMB. The French onion sandwich with caramelized onions and beef is fantastic.

Takes about 15-20 min minimum to get your food, but it's made with love and as their wall says, we don't make fast food so please be patient. Staff is always really nice. Absolutely worth a visit! Yet to try their pizza but it looks like thin crispy delicious crust, too.“

“My family’s favorite pizza! The people there are also always friendly and helpful. My 17 year old said the chicken bacon ranch pizza is the best they have ever had. I love the cheese so much - I know I should also branch out but it really is so good. Also, the salad and their ranch dressing is so good, fresh, and I loved that it had lots of carrot and cucumber slices, and green pepper. Yum!“
