This place is authentic, has a nice aura and it is worth going once. Clam chowder was delicious. I think cornbread is too sweet but liked that one too.It is a little overpriced but for a several day visit, it is great.

Bearing in mind that it is a reasonable tourist spot, it is still recommended.According to its own claim, it is the oldest working restaurant in America, which provides atmosphere, but also crowds and probably higher prices.Service was good, especially with the crowds, although some dishes and drinks were forgotten, but that was quickly corrected. The food itself, lobster in my case, was also excellent. Not top level, but fine. However, the price was not entirely in proportion, but that can be explained by the popularity.

The food is not bad, there is a big difference in the size of the lobsters large (for 3 people) and medium (for 1 person).Everyone agrees that the French fries are delicious.

My husband and I ate lunch for the first time today at The Oyster House. Food and service were excellent. We were brought the warm cornbread to start. I ate every bite. He had a Kennedy cocktail and I had an expresso martini and we shared a 1/2 order of oysters. Delicious. For lunch he had the fried shrimp with fries and coleslaw and I had the shrimp and scallops with sun dried tomatoe cream sauce over rice pilaf. Both dishes were perfect and filling. We are celebrating his bday so we shared the apple cobbler with ice cream. It’s small but we were glad to share. Highly recommend this restaurant -a must if you enjoy history and have a love for our USA.
