Great flavors. We had the Aushak as starter, the dopiyaza and koufta challow for mains, and finally topped off with the pistachio and cardamom ice cream. Very fulfilling dinner experience for our anniversary.

They know what they are doing at Helmand. On a Saturday night it was full so it was noisy and crowded. There is no room between tables. The food came promptly. Our waiter was efficient and friendly.

A must-not miss restaurant! Physically, one of the most beautiful restaurants you will find. The service and presentation were excellent. Very family friendly. The bread is baked on premise in a wood oven. It is served with an array of dipping sauces. My companion and I each had Kourma Challow with Lamb. I had that feeling of: this food is so delicious that I want to eat every morsel, but the portions are so plentiful that I can't. Helmand is delightful!

Spectacularly great food. Wonderful as always. Very accommodating for vegetarian diners. However, we asked for a quiet table and the room became loud on Friday night. Our server was busy. Very attentive at the beginning; not so much at the end.

Murgh challow and Lamb lawand are must-try. As I am leaned to Indian spices...this had a perfect combination of it. There are decent vegetarian options not limited to baked potatoes. It had a touch of home blend flavors that makes it stand out.
Love this restaurant! We go early because it is less noisy then. I had the vegetarian special and it was really good. My friends from Switzerland who have traveled all over the world really liked Helmand too.
The place looks authentic, and the atmosphere and the service are amazing. We had the lamb lawand, aushak, mantwo, and the traditional yogurt drink - they’re all good but nothing special. The bread they serve, however, is really good.
not being open on Saturdays is a huge disadvantage compared to the many other outstanding Mexican

Very good. Had not been there in 20 years, but it was great. East street parking in front, no waiting for our reservation, service really fast and attentive, food unique and delicious. Great place!

Great food and warm ambience always meet you in this place. Watching the woodfired oven baking traditional bread and other dishes is also lovely. Nice staff and good portions contribute to a lovely evening.
