“The place is nice and cosy, a small place that I think that mainly the local people are going. The food tastes nice and the people in this place are very welcoming and kind. If you want to get the feeling of a nice local restaurant I recommends you to go there.“
“Food was very good. Went with a friend for our monthly brunch meet up. I had the BLT and the toast was perfectly toasted and the bacon was just right! Friend had French toast, scrambled eggs, toast, and bacon. Everything was delicious! Will be my new lunch spot!Parking: Centre street is so busy, so prepare to drive around for a second to find parking. Definitely worth it!“
“This was just the best place for breakfast. It was small but looked really neat. The food was phenomenal and the staff was excellent. Our cook (Willie) was the best and was actually hanging out and talking to us about the history of the place. Before we left, we got our picture with him and our waitress.“
“There are a lot of well reviewed breakfast places in the area but Chestnut Hill stands out in my book. Go for one of the breakfast combos and you'll be happy. Consistent, cooked perfectly, and well seasoned. Solid coffee as well. My new go-to.“
“Best diner ever!!*Food is phenomena, packed and slow*Atmosphere is cozy and the Classic Rock memorabilia and music is super cool and interesting.*Service is incredible! I absolutely love that the Little Depot is run by a family! (mom, dad, son and daughter) Your family is amazing!!*Side note -I’ve never taken a photo of my food, posted or written a review on Google. Although I would love to keep this local gem to myself, its worth sharing a stool. You will need to wait to sit, particularly on weekends, but soooo worth it!!“
“This place got a cheers atmosphere if you know what I mean. I order takeout from there more days than not. You can catch the owner behind the grill, most days doing the work of 10 people, and even in the chaos she’ll still have time to turn around with a smile to welcome you into her home. And most importantly, the foods is incredible.“
“This is a hidden gem. The prices are good, the food is good and the customer service experience is nothing short of remarkable. Everyone there treats customers more like “friends” then “customers.” The place has a nostalgic-feeling to it and looks like an old-school diner and I absolutely LOVE IT! Where the heck can you have a full breakfast these days for $10.65 (Scott’s Special)? A Starbucks Venti and Sausage sandwich running north of $10.Visit this diner, you won’t regret and they will treat you like a rockstar.“
“I tried the Vegan BLT today, and it was quite delicious! I liked it because it was light, yet it came with the fries and pickles on the side to fill you for real. I know that not many people are Vegans , but it’ll be more considerate if a Vegan menu is left on the table in addition to the regular menu so i don’t have to sit and wait to ask for a vegan menu separately.“
“Since the late 1960s I've been to many many diners this one is the best one I've been to the breakfast was delicious it was a generous portion and the price was great the people who worked at a very kind and friendly they greet you say thank you when you leave the whole experience was great I can't wait to go “
“Wow, there are some miserable people out there leaving reviews!Folks, DO read the reviews of the actual customers! They are NOT TRYING TO FOOL YOU!!!GREAT FOOD!These people actually cook their own food! They do not warm the soup out of a can!! They do not buy frozen Spinach pie and cook it for you…. they actually make it with fresh ingredients! They always try to listen to their customers and if it’s not on the menu and they have the ingredients they’ll make it for you…. Because they care! They have been caring for the customers for 23 years!“
“Cute diner in Old train cart. Very tiny place. There are about 7 tables and then chairs at the counter top. Basic breakfast menu, pancakes, eggs, omelettes and etc. Cash onlyThe muffin though is about 3 times the size of Dunkin donuts!!!! Only $2.75I'm holding it in the picture and you can barely see my fingers. Veggie Omelette was tasty and nice size. My husband got 2 eggs, hash, toast and sausage. Everything came to $40.02“
“Ordered breakfast and picked it up around 8:30 am, my husband said it was pretty busy inside. I got the stuffed French toast with fruit and cream cheese inside, with the sweet potato hash browns. Large portion of food and it was delicious! My only complaint was the cream cheese kind of tasted like goat cheese to me which I'm not to fond of but I ate it all anyways lol. Will definitely eat here next time we come to Salem!“
“Always good for a weekend (or weekday) breakfast (also offers lunch all day on Saturdays). Pretty busy earlier Saturday/Sunday but mostly quick turnaround. Waitstaff very busy but friendly. Love the eggs (not too dry or too runny) and breakfast sandwich.“
“Food was pretty good. We got really good chili, awesome poutine, a pretty good ceasar wrap, and a blt that tasted like it was sitting for a bit before she brought it over. Our server wasn't overly friendly and the service was lacking quite a bit. At one point the manager came over to ask if we needed anything and we replied that we were waiting on the other half of our food. Turned out to be just sitting there waiting on the server. Our drinks sat empty for most of the meal and when we went to leave our server followed us out to confront us about her tip. First time she actually spoke to us.“
“Okay.. I have found my new go to!! Traditional American food and service is amazing. The place has a wonderful vibe and is chillJust returned for another amazing visit!! Staff are great and friendly, the food is absolutely fantastic. Clean and the whole atmosphere is inviting and “
“Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the greater Boston area. Delicious food and quick service, just remember to bring cash and some quarters for the meters nearby! Staff is friendly but not overbearing despite the close quarters, plus they're very quick with orders and help if you need anything. I've never been disappointed by the food here and its one of my go-to restaurants to bring guests when they visit from out of town. My usual is the challah French toast, which is perfectly cooked and sweet. The home fries are amazing too. So don't miss this place for the perfect "home cooked" breakfast.“
“Just moved in to Melrose from Chicago and had my first great breakfast here! Stephanie’s customer service is exceptional and the food was fast and delicious. Will make this regular place for sure. If you are in the area definitely stop by.“
“We stumbled upon this place after a local road race and totally lucked out! The place is very clean, ample parking, the food was cooked to order and the service was wonderful. We got Avocado Toast w/ Eggs & Hash Browns and Stuffed French Toast. Looking forward to return trips to try different menu items. ?“
“They don't have wait staff. You order when you come in. I am handicapped they brought me my food. They don't have a restroom. Food is great, large portions for the price and very good value. They are closed on SundayDietary restrictions: Very helpful I am diabetic they have a lot of sugar free options.“
“This dinner is awesome! Esp if you love old school vibes & classic dinner food. Trust the wisdom of the reviews… the breakfast potatoes taste like they captured your Grandma and trapped her in the kitchen. Parking was pretty easy - simple street parking. Prices were super reasonable too.“
“Love this place. The only only thing I ask from them is to not use styrofoam containers. Their portions are massive and the container I got my food in for leftovers had flaky bits of plastic inside of it. Please consider switching to another material for take out/leftover boxes“
“If your in south Boston this is your spot for breakfast. They have really generous portions and the food tastes good. The prices are the best prices I've seen in a long time at a restaurant/diner. I'd definitely eat here again the next time I'm in the area.“
“This place has not changed one bit since I was a kid....and it is a welcome feature. There's a great comfort in coming here when I'm in my old neighborhood...where everything has changed and all the old hangouts of my youth are gone. There are a few wait staff that have been there for years. The food is good and prices reasonable. The only reason I gave atmosphere a couple of points off is because I know not everyone will go there with an eye for nostalgia, but in my eyes it's beautiful.“
“One of my all time favorite diners. Always busy but it moves pretty quickly. The staff are really friendly. The food is so delicious. I highly recommend getting a bagel seared on the grill. The corned beef hash is really good. Quite peppery and great with the potatoes. Clam chowder is also “
“The nicest people in town! The waitresses are super nice and the kitchen is always consistent and delicious- especially the omelettes and chocolate chip pancakes! If you’re looking for a warm atmosphere to enjoy your breakfast this is the spot! :) 10/10“
“Great local style diner. Although it looks closed it is very much open. Nothing is spectacular but everything is pretty good, and the service is great. Cash only is a bit of a pain. The veggie omelet is very good. I suggest ordering your home fries well done.“
“I go here every time I am in the area. They have a huge menu of American fare plus the best deli options I've seen in a long time. The portions are generous and the service is friendly and efficient. You will not be disappointed! It is a very large restaurant but be prepared for a wait on the weekends.“
“Nice place conveniently open till 3pm on Sundays and 9pm during the week. The breakfast was decent and they had real maple syrup as an option. Food came out great nothing was over cooked or burnt. We were satisfied with the amount of food and price for specials. There is a small parking lot in the back that made finding a spot convenient.Parking: Small parking lot out back but street parking around area was available.“
“The donuts are delicious and a good size. I've tried their steak sub and chicken fingers. Both are the best or one of the best I've had. A few menu items were not good. The tiny pancakes and square potatoes. They have good specials, but one time, the portion got a lot smaller. Overall, it is a good place to eat.“
“Classic neighborhood diner with a Greek theme. Prices are a bit steep but portions are incredibly generous. Open 7am to 3pm so plan accordingly. Also plan to have leftovers for another meal at home!Parking: 2 hour street parking free, usually within a blockKid-friendliness: Kid friendly staff, welcoming“
“Went here late night after a concert in the area. The waitress didn’t speak much English but was patient with me when I was describing what I wanted. I ended up with eggs over medium, fresh corn beef and French fries. Might not be your average breakfast but it was so good I wish they were in NJ and I might take a ride back just for the food lol“
“Don't normally give 5 stars ..even to places I really like. But the Grateful Dedham diner is the exception. The food was excellent. Delicious and creative dishes. And the staff was amazing. So friendly. Grreat food, great atmosphere... can't go wrong with this one.“
“Such a lovely place. Food was great (we were a group of 4, all were very happy with their order) Huge portions, so value for money is totally there, and that’s kinda rare in Boston.Service was quiet and just very kind.We went there Saturday morning, arrived just before the rush, so try to be there before 11 if you don’t wanna wait in line.“
“Food is decently priced compared to the area. The Carne Asada plate is not their forte but they do have great burgers and omelets. No truck parking. You can park on the side of the road but it's not that convenient. They do have delivery however and they're fast and friendly. If you're delivering to the Boston Market or the New England Market then hit this place up for a nice freshly cooked meal.“
