“this place gives you an amazing basement vibe like no other. the staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the food! OH MY LORD!!! if you are a burger lover in the city, this place is an absolute must. you have to order the Barney's Burger. fully loaded and the flavors are incredible.“
“Went for dinner with a couple of friends. It has a cozy vibe, and the restaurant was full when we reached. We ordered some calamari, pasta, tacos, arepa and a shrimp salad. All the dishes were delicious and the portion sizes were generous. We also ordered some margaritas, and the mango margarita was brilliant. Would highly recommend this place for some South American cuisine. The staff is very friendly and warm as well!“
“Their beef empanadas with the mashed potatoes inside are my favorite. It's better than the chicken ones. A little hole in the wall spot near Maverick Station. Service is good and fast. There isn't a lot of seating since it's always poppin' inside.“
“My favorite new place. I have been to South Boston location and Brookline. The food is wonder and it will be hard to find a place with better prices. Tons of delicious food from their empanadas, yuca fries, sour Sopa, Rice and beans, chicharrones to the churros for dessert! You cannot go wrong here!!“
“We are tourists to Boston, a Spaniard and a Mexican couple, so obvs our level of Colombian knowledge isn't great. With that said, the place was very lively, and you can tell it's a staple to this neighborhood. Everyone came in for breakfast, which was quickly provided. Prices were very fair for the quality of items. The gals behind the counter are clearly hard workers. My husband ordered one of their tamales, and that thing could feed a family of 3. He really liked it but I couldn't get past the texture. We tried empanadas and like a cheese pastry, all very good. The ambiance was very simple but cafeteria style, which helps to meet new people. Seats were kind of uncomfortable though. Overall, we appreciated it.“
“The Google reviews don't lie, as expected a very good authentic Colombian restaurant, food was very good, portions were right, friendly staff, clean place, sitting at the bar with a view of the kitchen which looks clean too, and clean bathrooms. ....“
“Ordered chicken thigh with rice, beans, yucca, salad TOGO and it was nothing short of authentic and delicious cuisine. The combo of food was savory and delicious, especially together. Yucca was flavorful. Chicken thighs had juicy flavor and delicious texture.I am very satisfied with the value as the portions were enough for 1 or 2 leftovers - but it would be hard to finish all the rice and beans in one sitting. The ordering was easy online on their website, and they had the order warm on the counter as I arrived, with a nice smile. The interior is fun, video-bar themed with Latin music playing and fun music décor. The bar is snug and intimate in the back.I hope to come back for a sit-down meal soon!“
“The food was amazing- very tasty!! Portions are above average. The prices are slightly high, but not bad. And the server was very sweet & cordial. Highly recommended!!!Parking: Had to park at the Marshalls parking lot a block away due to no available street parking by the restaurant. However, the area is totally pedestrian-friendly.“
“The food was awesome and fresh! The service was good... the lady here is super nice and friendly. Take her suggestions if you're uncertain of anything. The ambiance was nice and cozy... feels like home Everything was on point... Glad we came“
“I have been going to this awesome place since 2009! It’s always been fun and the waitresses are beautiful and very nice. Great music and good prices. There was a DJ upstairs and a dance floor. I believe it has been renovated and is even better!!“
“Small place at first smelled like a basement was packed but the waitress was good and friendly the food was good the salad wasn’t great smelled and tasted like it came straight out of the bag had chemical taste other than that really enjoyed the food good size portions would def “
“We came with family and friends (a group of 10) and the servers were so kind and welcoming! This place felt like home with the outstanding customer service and the food was SO delicious! Everyone enjoyed their plate and it’s so different from anything we’ve tried. So excited to come back, I know it’ll be great!“
“Nice food, large servings, good selection of drinks from hot chocolate to strong to pineapple sangrias. Friendly service and enjoyable family-friendly Latin music in the background. I ordered the bandeja cazuela tradicional, which has a bit of everything: meat, chicharrones, rice, avocado, corn, tomato, and plantains in a kind of broth. Had it for lunch and the leftovers for dinner!“

“I went to El Peñol 2 located on 570A Broadway in Revere, MA. We had a true Columbian food feast here! For drinks I tried their jugos naturales en augua (nature flavored water). They have so many flavors to try (mango, papaya, guava etc.) and you can get milk versions of them too. I tried their blackberry water and it was super delicious 9/10.For appetizers we had fried plantains 7/10, yucca frita (yucca fries) 7/10 and mixed ceviche platter 7/10. The mixed ceviche platter was quite the sight! It had shrimp, scallops, octopus and avocado. If you are in the mood for some seafood I recommend trying this dish. For main dishes we had the carne en crema de champinoñes (beef in mushroom sauce) 8/10, the picadillo de pollo (marinated chicken) 7/10 and pescado frito (whole fried fish) 7/10. For any of the dishes you can also get a side of rice and beans, fries, salad, or fried plantains. For dessert we got flan 7/10 and churros with ice cream 7/10. This place is very affordable and provides great portion sizes. I can see why they have two other locations (Boston and Brookline!).Next time I come back (or perhaps do delivery!) I want to explore more of their drinks and of course get plantains/yucca fries.Food: 7/10Affordability: 8/100“
“This Colombian restaurant has special and delicious meals, including fried pork, tacos, blood sausage, and fried dumplings. The pork and pork skin are fried crispy, the pork blood sausage is chewy, and the fried dumplings and corn tortillas are even more delicious with salad dressing!“
“This place is fantastic for the fresh veggies and meat. I am particularly fond of the chorizo they sell and still discovering the other small wonders of Latino cuisine that are available here. The chorizo is useful for quickly fixing a savory meaty meal. Here is a picture of today's chorizo omelette. Muy deliciosa.“
