I love pho - probably have it every other week. I’ve been searching for my favorite spot in Boston/greater Boston and this restaurant is by far my favorite. Flavorful broth (best I’ve had in MA), good portion of meat, good amount of noodles. Plus the owner is a great, older Viet man.

Definitely a hidden gem (and a one man show!) the food here is great but I'm so sad to say they are closing down pretty soon. Will be missed!

This place is a hidden gem with consistently good pho and fried appetizers. The Pho has broth with deep flavor, a good portion of chewy noodles and just the right amount of meat. The owner runs the place all by himself and makes the crab rangoons to order, making sure they are crispy and fresh. He makes sure to check in on your experience and is quick to bring you anything you need. The inside of the restaurant seems a little old but it is clean and well maintained. I have gone back a couple times now and have never been disappointed.

Such a welcoming and delicious place. The owner is the server and makes the food himself.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. I have enjoyed the food for years, but because I have been exploring Indian restaurants lately, I sort of forgot about Kien Giang. I stopped in yesterday for a wide noodle stir-fry with vegetables. It's one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes and KG does a delicious version, light, a teeny bit sweet, mild flavor. I have had this dish in probably a dozen Vietnamese restaurants and KG's is my favorite. Their Pad Thai, hot and sour soup and fresh spring rolls are other favorites of mine and my friends although every dish I have had here has been wonderful. The restaurant is worth a visit; if you try it, I think you will make it a regular stop! Some reviewers talk about the ambience and I understand that, but don't let that fool you. It would be nice if the room was brighter, spruced up, but the food is terrific.

Best pho I’ve had in Boston, I’d eat it out of a dog bowl. Service was fast and friendly. Yes, there is a 4% charge for credit cards but this is a tiny, no-frills restaurant off the highway. Bring cash or grow up and pay the extra fifty cents. Great coffee too.

Would never expect a restaurant off the highway to taste this amazing. My wife and I tried both the regular pho and bun Bo hue. The broth on the regular was AMAZING rich with flavor. The spiciness and lemongrass in the Bun Bo hue was perfect for me. Meat was hearty. Then we tried the coffee (around 4pm) that everyone in the reviews raved about it was strong AF. My wife and I stayed awake until 4am; I only had 4 sips, my wife only 1 sip. Disclosure: neither my wife nor I are Vietnamese, so we can’t speak much on whether the food taste authentic, but we are pho connoisseurs and have tried it everywhere we’ve been (all east coast states, California, Germany, Italy, etc) to is restaurant has easily made it to our top 3 favorite spots. The owner is super friendly too, so that put the cherry on top!

Don't let the ambiance scare you away this is the best pho in the greater Boston area. There was only one guy working and he was very friendly and a great cook. I will definitely be back.

The owner enforce a surcharge of 4% for credit card payment, unless you pay in cash. Terrible customer service and mediocre food.

The location is pretty discreet but the food was on point! I got a grilled pork chop rice plate and I was not expecting much but it turned out to be delicious. I also got a vietnamese iced coffee and it’s very smooth but also strong! The owner was very friendly and understanding. Would love to go back again.

The food is delicious and the service is friendly. 4 not 5 stars due to the fact that it could use a little sprucing up.Dietary restrictions: I’m allergic to shellfish. They made sure of no cross contamination.

My husband and I walked in to have lunch and the place was - what's the word?...sticky. Everything, menus, table, floors. There was restaurant supplies in the corner (talk about lack of ambience!) I could overlook the lack of attention to cleanliness - if the food was good. Reviews looked hopeful. But, when my husband and I proceeded to order the guy taking our order said in Vietnamese "this place and food caters to WHITE people." Um...what??? Then, I tried to order ban xeo (Vietnamese crepes) and he said he didn't have that. Ok? How about a salad? Nope...then he yelled at me and said the only thing available was the prices in yellow....Um the whole menu was colored yellow??? So I said fine, I'll just have tea. But my husband saw the way this guy yelled at me and said no, we're out of here! This guy clearly didn't go to finishing school. Maybe he wants to treat people like crap because he doesn't want customers or be in business any longer? Dunno. Reminded me of the soup nazi but at least that guy had great soup to show for it. I wouldn't know since we never got anything to eat...the place was empty save for one couple sitting there (it was Lunch time on Sunday) - and they weren't eating. Avoid this place unless you're into sadism and want to be treated like dirt.
