This was a solid breakfast. It wasn't busy at all while we were there but it was very good. Nothing crazy just a solid breakfast.

Worst breakfast I've ever had. the homemade potatoes and pacankes were tasted sour. The server told that they served it all morning and no one had complained. Then I saw throw away what was in the kitchen. And they charge almost full price. Never again.

This is my favorite place to go for breakfast especially on the weekends. I have been coming here my whole life and it's one of the only restaurants left in the city like it and for that I am grateful. Everyone is so nice, it's like going to your own kitchen. The food is always perfect, at least for me but things do come to me easily so there's that to factor in. But honestly you just can't go wrong coming here, the food is always perfect, the staff is so nice and accommodating, it's wheelchair accessible, bathrooms are great, service is perfect and there is a woman that works there and we know each other from me going there but I never asked her her name and she is my favorite ever and breakfast is very important to me and when you have a server that just knows what she is doing so well and is just such an awesome person, it makes you want to go back and it's just nice to have a local place that has everything you want. I love all types of restaurants but I hope that the highland luncheonette is always around and always stays exactly how it is. Amen cuz that was a chant.Vegetarian options: You can just ask for what you would like and I'm sure they will accommodate to the best of their abilityKid-friendliness: I have been going here since before I could walk so I'd say every kid should experience a good old fashioned highland luncheonette breakfast or lunch. I'm a better person because I do cool stuff in cool places like this. Jus sayin.Parking: There is a small lot directly on the side of the luncheonette that has easy parking access and there is also plenty of street parking on highland avenue itself. If the lot is full and you can't find close street parking you could always be really wild and park at the 7 eleven parking lot across the street, or there is Webster bank and I don't know the rules there on a Sunday but I'd say take the risk of you feel wild. But yea, you shouldn't ever have a problem finding a place to park.Wheelchair accessibility: A person in a wheelchair shouldn't have a problem having a nice comfortable experience here. There are booths but there are also tables where a person in a wheelchair can sit or they could even sit at the end of a booth.....there is plenty of room.Dietary restrictions: They don't have a bougie vegan menu and it's best that way, but vegetarianism isn't new age so it shouldn't be difficult for you to ask for something with or without meat or with or without a vegetable. If you want gluten free bread you might just wanna not eat bread, this isn't that kind of place, but you shouldn't be eating bread if you have celiac disease anyway. And before you say oh thats no doctor....yes, I in fact am a doctor. But I also think that whatever your dietary restrictions are as long as they aren't too crazy or too much of a medical issue, that the highland luncheonette can most likely meet your needs. I can't speak for them but try it for yourself and see if you like it!!!

The one waitress they have is terrible. Her demeanor is awful and dismissive, as if bringing me ketchup is the worst part of her day.

Great place to have breakfast. The breakfast potatoes are the best and don't forget the grilled corn muffin. Charlene is a peach!

A decent place to have a quick bite for breakfast or lunch.

Waitress was good seeing how she was the only one working serving tables. Place was on the busy side. Cook was to worried about doing Door dash and other take out orders. We waited well over an hour for our food. Eggs were over cooked toast came to the table 5 minutes before the meals and was cold by the time we received our food. Overall not a good experience.

Good food and friendly staff. A great place for breakfast, but was also my go-to fish and chips spot during Lent.

Another great place to have breakfast with family or friends

Awful experience. Very dirty and dated place. Staff without gloves or hairnets. When being served waitress stacks the places on top of each other having the bottom of one place touching all over your food. Gross. The place was half empty but still took over half an hour to get our food. They served us one person at a time. My girlfriend got her food 5 minutes before I got mines. First and last time I’ll go there.

Good breakfast for a reasonable price!! Highly recommended!!

Remarkably good. Small, neighborhood diner. Clean. Everything is made fresh. The kitchen is RIGHT THRRE, not in the back. Parking is scarce but worth the effort. Pricing is reasonable even with inflation bump up.
