Food wasn't very good, staff was pleasant and attentive. Nice Irish vibe, just didn't care for the food

We gave this a try a few times. I know that every restaurant is having staffing issues, so we are always prepared for a longer than usual wait time for food. The service was awful and the food was not good. Cold mashed potatoes, a plate that was more than 50% partially cooked broccoli. I asked for a cup of tea, which finally came with no sugar, no cream/milk and no spoon. It took so long to get someone back over to the table, I just stirred it with a spare knife. The entertainment was great, so I would go back for that but not the food or service.

Awesome Irish bar with a cool atmosphere. It was really slow when we went but has great potential

Staff were great with our grandson; food and service were good also. They had live music, and the band was good, though a bit too loud for us.

The apple cider sangria was amazing and my burger was delicious. I'd definitely go back again.

Waxy's is a great place to grab dinner! We were greeted by hostess Meredith who was welcoming and friendly while seating us quickly. Our server Tim was awesome! Friendly, efficient and great with recommendations that were spot on! The ambience was fun for Saturday night. We will be back!

Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She took excellent care of us. Good variety of menu choices. Nachos are terrific! Outside dining is very comfortable. Music on the weekends.

Waxy's was highly recommended and exceeded our expectations Great atmosphere, excellent service, and a delicious menu. The shepherds pie is a must have. Best Irish pub in FT Lauderdale area.

Ordered takeaway from here. Hubby and I ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich, brussel sprouts appetizer, and Cobb salad. Total came out to around $44. What's Hot - Quality. Pretty good. The Cobb salad has corn, red onion, bacon, and shredded cheese. Hubby's Nashville chicken sandwich was spicy, but not very spicy, which is what it's supposed to be. To be fair, my husband has a high tolerance for spice. In his words, "It's spicy for a normal person." Haha... In you like spicy food, be prepared to be disappointed. What's important is that their food is pretty good and fresh. All our veggies were fresh and crisp. Good food, but doesn't stand out. See additional explanation below. - Portions. Decent sized portions, but not enough to make you full on one dish alone. If you're hungry, be prepared to order more than one dish, especially if you're sharing. - Takeaway containers. They used plastic takeaway containers, which can be cleaned and recycled or reused. During this time of the pandemic, when takeaway orders probably outnumber dine-in customers, I consider this a plus. I will rinse out takeaway containers and/or reuse them again. It's helpful for customers when the takeaway containers are easy to use and can be recycled. They also separated the food well. For example, the fries were in their own container, rather than in the same container with the chicken sandwich. That keeps the food better organized, rather than falling apart and getting mixed up with other food. Fries also don't get mushy. - Health and safety. There's hand sanitizer by the front door. The staff that I did see were all wearing masks, as well. - Service. When we arrived to pick up our food, it was ready and all packaged together in a paper bag. When I told the host I was picking up an order under the specific name, he recognized it and immediately gave me the bag. They communicated well with the Uber Eats app, so we were notified when our order was ready. It didn't take long to prepare our food, either, which was helpful, because I was hungry. What's Not - Quality. The food was pretty good, but didn't stand out. For example, their fries are pretty bland and their Nashville chicken sandwich isn't really spicy. My Cobb salad was good, but it wasn't great. Hubby and I actually added our own spice to the fries to make them more flavorful. It also would've been nice to have avocado added to the salad. This place seems reliable and you know what you're going to get, but it doesn't stand out. - Portions. Not bad, but not good value for money. It was not enough to get full and satisfied. - Price. As mentioned previously, the portions are not good value for money. For $12, our brussel sprouts appetizer was not worth it. Given the small portions, and the extremely small amount of cheese, it was not a good value for money. It looked like they slapped 1 slice of cheese on there, which wasn't good, because not all the brussel sprouts were flavored with the cheese. Final Answer Willing to come back, but doesn't stand out.

The food was good. Stick to the bar foods. The tots, tenders, and wings are good. Brussels Sprouts were also tasty. My friend got their Nashville Hot sandwich and it looked amazing. Their seafood isn't that great in my opinion.... But it's an Irish Pub, what do you expect haha. Great place, friendly staff, good beer selection, and most of their bar food/meats are good.
