“Celebrated mom's 91st birthday at 1pm. Waitstaff couldn't be better, never was rushed to order appetizers, meals or dessert. Seemed to be there when we needed another round. Food was plentiful and well prepared, some in our party were very particular on how to prepare their entrée and the staff didn't disappoint.“

Entrees that we had included the braised short ribs, which was so tender no knife was needed, gnocchi, bolognese and calce di pepe were all thoroughly enjoyed and no "doggie bags" were needed. “Buono! You feel the warmth of this BYOB establishment the minute you walk through the door. The owner (Brazilian w/North End restaurant experience) greeted everyone picking up take out or arriving for their reservation. Staff, including the owner, worked as family to take orders, deliver and turn over tables to ensure every request was met. They made an effort to ask and remember our names as we said goodbye (reminded us of the Cheer's intro song). We took it as a sign that 'ran' is in their name and ran to take the first available reservation @ 4:00pm. The restaurant was full by 5:30pm. Given the hard surfaces it's loud, but reminiscent of childhood memories of dinner with my Italian neighbors. We enjoyed warm bread out of the oven w/olive oil & herbs, arancini sampler (one spinach & one bolognese) that were approaching baseball size, short rib gnocchi special & chicken marsala. The red sauce is absolutely delicious, the short rib melts in your mouth and the marsala sauce is one of the best I've had w/tender chicken. Portions are generous. We each took half of our entree home, but ended the evening by sharing an airy, creamy, delicious dessert named after the owner's daughter, Isa, w/coffee.“

“Surprisingly delicious pizza! We had a mushroom pineapple one (my personal favorite), and a pepperoni. Their crust is thin. Rich in cheese. Great tomato sauce flavor. “It was a brisk Saturday night and I took the lady out for a dish of pasta. I put on my finest linens and prepared to embark on date night. We arrived at Daniella's. We started with the muscles ??, then I enjoyed the Sunday sauce while the Mrs treated herself to the chix, broccoli and ziti..oh yea and you can't forget the mushroom risotto..mangia!! The food is always delightful we got the Fried Ravioli to start which was amazing, delicious and the sauce is so good! For dinner I had the pollo parmigiana and my husband had the steak tips, both were amazing! And to top it off our waitress Eileen was so sweet and provided outstanding service! “My wife and I went here last Friday night with friends and we all Loved it!! We thought we would have trouble getting a table but that wasn't the case, surprisingly. Because the service and food were both excellent. Our server was great. He made our drinks as well and my wife said her lemon drop martinis x3, were to die for. He brought fresh warm rolls to the table, and we got the octopus and bruschetta appetizers that were very good along with a side Caesar salad for the table. Then ALL our entrées were DELICIOUS! My wife and I both got the chicken parm and she couldn't even come close to finishing hers. The cutlet is nice and thin, and more than half the plate. The red sauce has good flavor w penne pasta. The portions were worth the money. Our friends got the seafood medley, and a marsala dish that were also both very good. The only draw back is the atmosphere and location aren't the best. I really hope this place stays open or finds a little nicer location, because the food and service are Top Notch and well worth it. Give them a try, you won't regret it!! We'll be back soon.“

“In town for marathon reasons with a mixed group of 14 (children, adults, drinkers, non drinkers, separate tabs) and this place did not disappoint. We had reservations well in advance which we highly recommend as it is a small operation. This cozy spot with a small bar made it happen for our party and 3-4 more small parties at once. Well made martinis, effective staff (Kathia you and your crew were more than excellent), the apps, salad and main dishes were plentiful and delicious. Thank you team, for a great meal and a great night to be remembered with my family.“

I have gotten catering a few times from Jen and she is not only such a great person she is an even better cook. Their pizza is the best in town by far but their Italian dishes are home cooked amazing! “This past Saturday, we went to the Drag brunch at Ciao. It was our first time at this restaurant and it certainly did not disappoint! The restaurant has friendly staff who are kind and very attentive. We also met one of the owners who is so nice and wants to make sure all customers are enjoying themselves. The food was delicious and the cocktails were a true craft. They are absolutely beautiful and taste delicious too. We had the banana soufflé, tiramisu pancakes, and fico pizza. We we coming back from an event and needed food quick- we'd usually go to Brothers for something like that since their stuffs ready and it's better than typical fast food, but they were closing in minutes so we decided to dine in Gallo for our first time. We got seated immediately, they gave us a free little appetizer before giving us some nice bread & oil. Our four dishes came out very quickly and were all delicious. No kids menu but absolutely didn't matter, both kids found different meals they wanted and got good leftovers. Place was clean as a whistle and server was so kind to us. Absolutely will go back more frequently.“

“The price/quality ratio is great, very friendly but professional staff. Quality live bands Friday and Saturday nights, $10 cover charge. Lisa Love Experience, the WildFire Band, The Far are some of the bands I have seen there, and they have a good size dance floor too. The kitchen closes and live music starts at 9pm. I definitely suggest making a reservation and being there early enough if you plan to eat or you don't want to stand up all night. Lounge is the perfect place to hang out with friends on a weekend night, or you can have a family dinner in the dining room but not a place for a romantic first date.“

“I've lived on the Melrose/Stoneham line for many years ago have never eaten here before. I got a small steak and cheese with extra cheese. Delicious!! It's pretty big for a small. They brought it right to my table. This place has been here for 44 years, wow! Their prices are excellent too! I will definitely be coming back again. While it slowed down a bit, I got to talk to an employee for 10 to 15 minutes. He was really nice. They know their regulars and are very personable. Come and try this place. You will not be disappointed!!“

When a plate is placed with a human hair on it in front of the customer and that customer has to wait while the food is replated and others in the party start eating. It is customarily expected for the restaurant to deduct from the bill as an apology. Not here. This surprised me and premotes my reluctance on returning.“

Unusual menu of Italian and authentic Argentinian dishes (my wife and I have been to Argentina). We all started with Empanadas, choice of 6 kinds. Two are sufficient for most people. Choice of baked or fried (we chose baked). Very good. My wife had the Canelones ala Bechamel (stuffed crepes). Very good. My son went for the Salmone alla Jesica (cheese stuffed salmon). Very good as well. I had classic Veal Florintina. Again very good, but too large a serving. Unusual for us, we went for dessert. My son tried the Copa Stracciatella (a chocolate chip gelato), my wife the dulce de leche Flan, and I had the Connoli. Excellent. Extensive wine list. Bottled beer only with an interesting Argentinian beer. Good service.“

“Decided I would try a new to me pizza place while I my daughter was at cheer practice. Headed over to Pizza Mia in Stoneham. I haven't had a really good pizza in over a month. I decided I would go big and ordered 1/2 tray of Sicilian, 1/2 cheese 1/2 pepperoni. The undercarriage was cooked perfectly, dark but not burnt crispy with a chewy inside. The sauce was really good tomatoey but not boring. I snagged a couple of loose pepperoni on my drive back to the cheer facility and they were delicious on their own. Cheese was really good and plenty of it, but not too much. Lots of flavor all around.I am very happy with my decision to try Pizza Mia. Next time I'll try a regular pizza.“
