The food at 1947 is absolutely amazing. The menu is HUGE, lots of variety for everyone. From the Biryani’s to the Curry’s this place is great!

I tried this spot for the first time today. I’ve never seen chicken korma that was dark brown and spicy. No coconut or almonds. The waiter never came around to refill water, so I was dying. Samosa was good and enjoyed the patna pulka.

Consistently good food, but consistently disappointing and subpar service. The employees are not customer service oriented at all. I can’t say they are all terrible, but most of the staff seem annoyed, miserable, and are rude and impatient towards customers. When dining in, they become completely inattentive after the food is served to you as if you are invisible. When getting takeout, something is always missing, without fail. I’m writing this review not to bash this restaurant, but to:1.) Being awareness to the restaurant owners and staff so they can take this constructive criticism into consideration and make improvements. Customers are being driven away by poor restaurant management and customer service. I have been a regular customer since they opened and I am now seriously considering taking my business elsewhere because it’s not worth it. Almost every experience has been tainted with some kind of negative event.2.) Set expectations for other people who are interested in eating here. If you dine in, you can expect a delicious meal, but expect subpar service or you might find yourself angry and frustrated by the end of your meal. If you get takeout, make sure to check your bag before you leave!! Check that everything you ordered, along with any sides and sauces the dishes are supposed to come with, are in your bag! Also, if you are in fact missing anything from your order, do not expect an apology. Instead, the staff will be annoyed and frustrated with you when you mention it. Again, do not wait until you get home to open the bag; check it while you’re still inside the restaurant or in your car before you leave.

Their Service is really bad. Their menu is awesome but staff is really unpleasant. I hate to write bad reviews but this keeps happening pretty often. We tried to contact the owner but no luck.

We visited this place twice and are happy with menu & tasteHave given 3* for atmosphere as this place has a very less space between tables and too chaotic if only around 3 families dine in at the same timeMust try: Murchi bhajjiDo not order any indo Chinese as you will be disappointed

The spice intensity and prices are escalating each day. The combo of idli and vada, priced at approximately $16, includes two idlis and just one vada. The quality of other items is also compromised. Unfortunately, despite our previous fondness for their dosas, the heightened spice level and mediocre taste mean we won't be returning.

This place offers a wide variety of dishes on their menu, and the flavors justify the price:)
We used to go routinely, the food is great. But the service has been horrible. There is one waiter who almost tried to hurry us and almost tried to force us to leave.

I love food. Cooking is the oldest science in the world, starting with the invention of fire, and having been refined in different ways across the globe ever since. The amount of history that exists inside a culture's cuisine stretches the imagination, and the food at 1947 positively sings with it. You can taste the story of India in the depth of flavor and sophistication created by the chef's mastery of spices. I would recommend this restaurant even if they only served one dish, but there are almost 100 stories to experience, and I intent to try all of them, and then start again from the top.
