“If you're getting breakfast in Southie...scratch that, if you're getting breakfast in Boston, it should be HERE. There are very few joints left that evoke the immediate sense of comfort when walking in - it's good and honest food, and great prices, with incredible staff. The corned beef hash, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and coffee are something you go to bed looking forward to eating them in the morning.“
“Food arrived hot and quick service excellent we asked for off the menu item Avacado toast and they had no problem making it perfectly 10 outta 10 comfortable no rush breakfastA big thing for me is they didn't hassle me about bringing in Starbucks I hate when places do that it's usually the reason I leave and don't come back so good on them.So I got a coffee before I left forgot to get it before they closed out the bill they were very good about it I thought I didn't have cash and even when I realized I did they comped it very nice staff if I could give them 6 stars I wouldParking: A few parking spots but freeKid-friendliness: There were kids eating by themselves must be from the building“
“Rewriting my review because the place has changed hands and changed menus. Pleasantly surprised to see that brunch was still on the menu, and even more pleasantly surprised to see these awesome Indian brunch fusion dishes. We got the butter chicken eggs Benedict and the masala chai French toast. It was super fun and delicious, definitely considering becoming a regular. My only regret is that the portions have shrunk somewhat since the previous owners.“
“While in town for a doctor's appointment, we decided to grab lunch, and our experience here was fantastic! The sense of community is evident, with staff recognizing regulars by name. The food surpassed expectations--generous portions and reasonably priced. The clam chowder was particularly outstanding. The attentive servers consistently refilled drinks and coffee, and they were especially kind to our toddler. We'd return without hesitation!“
“The food is great and the atmosphere is amazing. Whatever you're paying Lynne, IT'S NOT ENOUGH! She's always bustling, running back and forth, keeping busy, and yet still finds the time to give quality service to each person she speaks to. She was great!“
“I ate here for breakfast with my family on a trip to Cambridge last week. Andy's is reasonably priced, old school place with a simple menu serving diner comfort food. The staff was friendly and most of the patrons appeared to be regulars from the neighbourhood.“
“Great local style diner. Although it looks closed it is very much open. Nothing is spectacular but everything is pretty good, and the service is great. Cash only is a bit of a pain. The veggie omelet is very good. I suggest ordering your home fries well done.“
“Leighann was such a great server !! super nice and super attentive! came back today for the second time on my trip. will definitely come back when i’m back in town. food is DELICIOUS!!! and everything comes out fast ! cute lowkey vibes. 10/10!!!!!“
“A nostalgic deli experience in Inman Square. As the oldest restaurant in Cambridge, S&S has cemented its status as a beloved local spot that serves a wide range of classic deli fares. l came here for lunch a few times and always had a satisfying experience.Among the appetizers, the Chopped Liver was my favorite. Although it was unexpectedly paired with pineapple and melon slices - a combination that didn't entirely complement the inherent sweetness of the liver spread - it was still enjoyable when paired with crackers and red onions. Bathed in their signature sauce, the S&S Fried Shrimp was also good. The sauce leaned more towards sweet rather than spicy, but the jumbo shrimp was still nice and crispy. The Seared Tuna Salad was fairly basic, but with its generous portions, it was an ideal choice for a hearty meal. Corned Beef Reuben came with perfectly toasted marble rye bread, and the corned beef itself was solid. One of the biggest perk of S&S is their own free parking lot, but empty spaces might be hard to come by during peak lunch hours.Overall, a great spot that provides a slice of the city’s culinary history with the timeless appeal of a classic deli. If you’re looking for a comforting meal with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere, I highly recommend giving them a try.Parking: Free street parking lot (enter via Hampshire st)Paid parking lot next to Olé (Springfield st)Paid street parking on Cambridge St & Hampshire st“
“Does Joe's really need an introduction? It's been the same small coffee/breakfast joint for like 60 years, there must be a reason. The owners are basically your grandparents, except they can cook better than them. (Even if you don't want to admit it.) They are super friendly and won't hesitate to tell you their story. The hash and eggs were phenomenal, my friend said, "it was the best french toast I have ever eaten." Also the home fries are all hand cut. It's a tight place with a couple tables and some bar stools to overlook where the magic happens. Check it out, don't just drive by ✌️“
“Love Jimmy’s Broad Street Diner! I usually order takeout from here and it’s quite affordable, plus the portions are big. Can’t get enough of the spanakopita (spinach pie) and the steak&cheese sub. The chop suey is delicious and well seasoned. Make sure to ask how you want it prepared, the owner is so kind and attentive.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs“
“The decir is a little dated, but not raggedy at all. We were seated immediately. The staff was professional and polite. I enjoyed my veggie pizza and my husband's onion rings. The total for 3 people was $35. Would we do this again, yes. This is definitely a family restaurant. I have a bias for local, neighborhood restaurants, and the Pleasant Cafe is definitely in that category. This is a casual spot.Parking: They have a huge parking lot (by Roslindale standards) directly across from the restaurant.“
“Nestled amidst the charming streets of Jamaica Plain, MA, lies the Forest Hill Diner, a haven of warmth and nostalgia that beckons travelers and locals alike. Here, every sip of coffee is an invitation to journey back to simpler times, evoking memories of cozy mornings and hearty conversations. Served in classic Styrofoam cups with traditional pull-up lids, the coffee speaks of timeless quality and care. But the experience extends beyond the steaming brew. Forest Hill Diner’s pancakes are a symphony of flavors, each bite a delicate balance of fluffy texture, creamy butter, and sweet syrup. With every indulgent mouthful, diners are transported to a realm of pancake perfection, where every bite is a celebration of culinary craftsmanship.Yet, it is not merely the food that sets this diner apart. It is the intangible warmth that permeates its atmosphere, the genuine hospitality of its staff that makes every visitor feel like family. From the moment one steps through the door, they are enveloped in smiles and kindness, welcomed into a sanctuary of comfort and camaraderie. In essence, Forest Hill Diner transcends its role as a mere eatery; it is a sanctuary where the harmonious blend of good food, great coffee, and genuine hospitality creates an unforgettable dining experience, leaving a lasting impression on all who pass through its doors.“
“Love Beantown, Love Pam, and all the wait staff, However the last time we were there (four Adult women) I asked for a Pickle to be added to my order and was told NO I CAN'T give you a pickle, I said I am happy to pay for it, No I was told, we aren't allowed! Can you beat that! How frugal can Beantown be, a slice of pickle!?! What happened to the Customer satisfaction? I and my party were all dismayed by this. IF Beantown thinks this was Customer Friendly I suggest the owner might look into this. Thank You for your attention. M McNulty, Canton, MA 02021“
“I'm from California visiting my son in Boston, he told me about a spot around the corner from him Charlie's. It did not disappoint. The place was small and cozy. Charlie's is no joke, with a full bar, counter seating and tables it was perfect. As we walked in I noticed a board with the days specials, haddock sandwich or fish n chips, we both opted for the haddock sandwich, it was accompanied by fries, a small cup of coleslaw. The sandwich was served on a Brioche bun w lettuce, tomato mayo along w homemade tater sauce. Simply amazing. You can't go wrong here..“
“Do yourself a favor and get the Irish Breakfast plate at Martin’s. It’s absolutely delicious and probably the best breakfast dish that I’ve ever had. Eggs cooked to perfection, which by itself is a rare find. The black and white pudding was packed with flavor, really delicious. The sausages were fantastic. The homefries have an amazing seasoning, definitely the best I’ve ever had. Overall just an amazing breakfast. Thanks Martin’s!“
“One of my all time favorite diners. Always busy but it moves pretty quickly. The staff are really friendly. The food is so delicious. I highly recommend getting a bagel seared on the grill. The corned beef hash is really good. Quite peppery and great with the potatoes. Clam chowder is also “
“I can't say enough good things. Sausage was excellent as were the pancakes, breakfast burritos and French toast. I'm a coffee snob(but not in any other facet of life)and this coffee was excellent. Service was terrific as well. Prices are quite reasonable. We thought we would have paid double if we had eaten in Newton. Not rushed; food came out hot. No wonder there was a line out the door by the time we left(it was Father's Day).“
“The first time my husband and I walked in to have breakfast, it felt like a family. Just by observing, we can tell there was a good vibe there. Our waitress was down to earth and very quick and efficient. Since then, we've gone back, and she remembered where and how we sat and what we had. She should be a detective. Food is so delicious, eggs are fresh and cooked just right.“
“Food is very good! The lady that served me was very nice and easy on the eyes as well. My only complaint is that it's a bit pricey but that's the world we live in today. Will definitely come back sometime when I'm in the area ?“
“Went to this restaurant today for lunch with a friend who had eaten here before (was my first time eating here). The menu had many choices to choose from which was nice! Our appetizers and food came to the table pretty quickly when we were ready for them and the waiter was great in checking that we had everything we needed occasionally. The cost for our meals were reasonable and readily available. The atmosphere was comfortable and pleasant so it made my experience happy and at ease. Would come back to try something else in the future and I would definitely suggest this place to friends as a go to place to eat.“
“This little place just blends in and you'll drive past it if you aren't careful. And that would be a shameThere isn't much to speak of. It doesn't look like much when you step inside. It's small and maybe a little too tight. But sometimes those are the best places. Our server was great and had a great attitude. Some basic breakfast stuff was out of stock, like bagels (who runs out of bagels??), but she smiled through it. It happens. The food came out pretty quick and was excellent, and the coffee... hot, as it should be. The price was fair, the food was good and served quickly.Don't take my word for it, stop on in and check them out. Boston's best kept secret.Parking: $20 extortion lot around the corner“
“Everything a diner should be. Fast service, quality food, excellent staff and customer service. Nothing makes me happier than sitting at the counter on a Sunday morning with a cup of coffee watching my breakfast be made. Wish i lived closer - this would be a staple for me.“
