Fountain Place used to be okay when the prices were lower. It justified the basic diner food because of its location. But over time the prices have tripled and the food quality hasn’t improved or adapted with the change in price. It’s driven Salem locals like myself away and has been focused on just making money from tourists. Staff are super nice.

Came to this place to have some lunch with the family after a long trip. Service was good the waitress was very nice but the food...besides from not being cheap the quality and taste of the food was horrible. The burger tasted worser than school burgers, i got a buffalo panini and it wasnt buffalo, the chicken tasted like ham. We were very disapointed with the quality of the food.

Bad experience. Super expensive for what they offer. We had the chicken sandwich for 13 dollars. It was just chicken and bread, tinny, something I can make myself at home when I am running late to work. The "chips" were literally a tiny bag of Lays, put on the plate as a side (the plastic bag almost "on" the sandwich, something disgusting and unhealthy). The only good thing was the service, the waitress was respectful and fast. But we don't recommend this place at all.

No vegan or vegetarian options.

Eggs cooked exactly how I wanted them (not a fan of runny whites), which not many places do. The bacon was nice and crispy, and the home fries were well seasoned. The corned beef hash/swiss omelette was a nice big size and could probably feed 1.5 people. Nice cozy location right in the heart of Salem downtown!

Looking at the current rating, this place has a 4.2… Really?I haven’t had food this underwhelming in a very long time. You can do so much better in Salem avoid this place.

I got chic soup and a Caesar salad. The price was outrageous.$26 for bitter lettuce with an overpowering salty Jared dressing. Soup was a bowl the size of a cup. Too salty I won’t be going back.

Love this place! Breakfast is excellent but they desperately need to upgrade their maple syrup. If they had real maple syrup food would be 5 stars :)

Cute location, and the service was fantastic, but the food was just ok. I ordered a Benedict, and my sister got a pancake. Her pancake tasted off like it was spoiled. The server was super kind and took it off the bill, but over all it wasn’t great.

The staff were really friendly and our coffee cups were never empty. The windows also provided a nice view of the street and surrounding shops as well.Outside of that, the music was way too loud. Like the servers were having to yell to each other even though they were only a few feet apart. The food was also just so-so. Home fries are doused in seasoning, but don't have much flavor. The bacon was burnt, not crispy--burnt.It was relatively cheap for the area, but not some place I would go again.
