“I meant to take a picture of my food and forgot. I stopped here on a whim during my workday - first open place I saw at lunch time. It was fantastic! I had pulled pork that didn't need sauce (though I added a little just to taste that as well), probably the best mac and cheese I've had at a place like this, and excellent cornbread. The food cam out quickly and the people working (I believe the owner and his daughter?) were friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a quick, quality, affordable meal, don't skip this place. I hope work brings me down to this area again soon!“

“Trying to nail down big sloppy comfort foods has kind of been the thing for vegan spots the last few years. What Bunny & Basil is doing is akin to threading the needle. The food is hyper-accessible for the veg-curious, being absolutely delicious, and delivering big flavor where it counts. The seitan ‘chicken’ here is probably the best I’ve had. On the other hand, no compromises have been made in terms of obfuscating what the options are, for the sake of hardcore vegans. The location itself is also cute as hell“

“Just enjoyed a delicious lunch. Fried Calamari (not pictured), Chicken Parm was tender and juicy (the biggest chicken breast in town), and Swiss mushroom burger. Brendan our server was quick and kind. The owner Mike even came out to greet our table. I’d highly recommend you to try it. The hours are just for lunch.“

“Hanju kitchen is inside more of a bar environment. The overall feel is homey and sophisticated. There's a bar area and a window for Hanju Kitchen. You order at the window and provide a table number. It's self seating, but then they bring the food to your table. It happened to be a Saturday night when we went, and we found out there's live jazz every Wednesday and Saturday night. The band started at 8p and said they'd be there until 11p. It was a nice surprise. The food we got was delicious. I asked the woman at the Hanju kitchen window what she thought was best on the menu, and she recommended we get a few items and share. We got the Bulgogi Mac, Shrimp Po Boy, Pork Dumplings, and Korean Wings. I think she pointed us in the right direction. The dumplings were well flavored. I'm not a huge wing fan, but I did like the Korean sauce on the chicken. The best item was the Bulgogi Mac, which had all the flavor and creaminess you could hope for. I wasn't overly impressed with the shrimp po boy, but I had it right after the Mac. It was just a pretty basic fried shrimp sandwich in my opinion. The French fries it came with served to mop up the extra cheese from the Mac though. We left thinking we'd definitely go back. The main barrier in that area is parking, but we did find a street spot right around the corner.“

Josiah's American • $$
114 Power St, Providence

“As a Brown student, there is simply no way to go about avoiding the atrocity that is Jo's on a Friday or Saturday night. Whether you're looking for a delicious grilled cheese sandwich or loaded quesadilla because you can't make one yourself (hey, I'm not judging), a greasy burger or chicken sandwich (spicy with, if you will) accompanied by french fries, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks, or the best salad on campus (I've never once gotten one myself -- that's just what people say), Jo's is your place. They've got enough food to feed an army of ravenous college students, which is exactly what happens nearly every night starting at 6:00 PM up until the dark hours of two in the morning. Whatever you're craving, they've got it: cookies, ice cream, Rice Krispies treats, pretzels & hummus, juice, soda, chips, and more. The perfect place for off-meal-plan students to treat themselves (or get treated ;) to a deliciously unhealthy on-campus meal, Jo's will always hold a special place in every Brown student's heart. Looking for a more balanced meal that isn't the underwhelming buffets at the Ratty or the V-Dub? Off to Andrews or the Ivy Room for you, young trooper.“
