“A very special place! Nick is wonderful with the right balance of being available but giving you space. The rooms are very clean, but it’s an old house; nearly 300 years old, so there will be creaks and normal settling for a home that age. There is no tv; I bring my laptop, but also enjoy the solitude. The Barn is open Wednesday through Sunday and provides a small menu, full bar and entertainment. The food was good; the service was excellent and the locals are very friendly. Probably my favorite part of the property is the rescue farm. I love waking up and visiting with the animals or coming back after a day’s adventures to see all these sweet animals. Nearly all are rescued from horrible situations and live happily with each other. It’s really the icing on an already sweet place. Also very convenient to Great Barrington, NY, and CT area towns. This is definitely a wonderful place to unwind and explore.Rooms: The rooms are small but clean and well kept. It would be awesome to have a small fridge, but also totally fine without. I would suggest cups and tissues, but everything else is spot onSafety: Very quiet area; rooms are deadbolted. I had the whole inn to myself and was not worried at allFood & drinks: The on site entertainment is why I choose to stay here. After a long day exploring, it’s great to park the car, have a bite and a drink and listen to music while just having to walk up the driveway to go to bedNoteworthy details: It’s the rescued animals/farm and the peaceful feeling of the inn overall.“
