“Really enjoyed dining at Center Tree. There have been a few different restaurants in that building over the years. The old Tavern used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Rutland as they regularly had live acoustic music as well.The Good...Center Tree has a pretty robust menu for drinks, apps, and main courses. Specials are also available regularly.I strongly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Dip. It comes with hot, fresh pita and is a decent size for 2/3 people.The mixed drinks were also very good. Not over-priced, and they don't skimp on the good stuff.Main courses we tried were the bourbon stake tips and stuffed haddock. Both were good sized portions that we couldn't finish.The pizza oven must be the same as the previous restaurant and although we didn't order it this time around, it was a popular choice and looked very good as well.Atmosphere was also very good. The restaurant was busy, but no crowded. Wait staff seemed both knowledgeable and kept up without issue.Not So Good...There's a 4% surcharge for using a credit card instead of cash. Not a huge deal, but when you're tacking that on top of tip it gets a little awkward. There is an ATM available, but it isn't a sponsored (bank) ATM so you're paying whatever fee they charge. Just know before you go.Parking can be a bit of a pain. The main lot fills up quick, and the backup lot is dirt, down the hill, set behind the building. It's a little tricky in snow or rain.Check your receipt carefully...I didn't until I got home and found I was charged $5/ea. for 2 sides that should have come with my meal. It effectively turned a $24 dish to $34 bucks...plus the 4% surcharge...plus the tip...you get the point.Overall I think it's a decent option, although there aren't many in the area to compare against.7.5/10Parking: It's a little challenging when they are busy.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes. “I never knew that dance monkey by tones and I came in a piano instrumental version. Went for lunch. I had a nice time for a post mother's day outing, which was a very peaceful and quiet setting. We had the place to ourselves at 2pm on a Monday. Highly suggest the hibachi and maki. “If you haven't been to Ladds Restaurant in Rutland recently you owe them another look. This place was crowded! Most of the empty booths and tables were reserved but Adam our host was able to accommodate us by moving a few tables around. It took him a few minutes but we ended up in a nice table for two in a delightful spot. Tiffany our server was at our table shortly after we settled in and took our drink orders. My wife had the specialty drink "Cranberry Rita" ($9.50) while I just wanted a soft drink as I was driving. She liked her drink very much telling me it was delicious. I ordered the regular size 'Prime Rib' ($24.99) which was plenty for me, but they do offer King Cut for $27.99. It came out a perfect medium rare, well seasoned and very tender. Now prime rib without au Jus is like kissing your sister thankfully Ladds provides plenty and it's well seasoned. All in all I'm my opinion one of the best in the area. It came with a salad, baked potato and green beans. Three are several other choices too. My wife chose the Chicken Marsala ($18.99) which came with a side of angel hair pasta. Surprisingly it came in a huge bowl. She mentioned that the dish needed a bit of salt. She throughly enjoyed the Caesar Salad. The portion size was more than adequate. We ended up taking home much of the chicken, and my leftover green beans which I'm sure was fresh not frozen. As mentioned before, and considering how crowded it was at the time the service was excellent. Adam readjusted the air conditioning and asked my wife if she was comfortable with the new airflow. No one has ever been so concerned with our comfort. Tiffany was a real treasure as well, making sure we were enjoying our experience. Great food, and excellent service and reasonable prices adds up to a great time. No wonder it was so busy. Next time we go I'll make sure to call for reservations.“
