My husband and I really enjoy sitting at the bar for dinner at Oak Barrel Tavern. Poe has been our server/bar tender a number of times and he consistently goes above and beyond. The food is always delicious, and no matter how busy he is, Poe is always friendly, attentive and cheerful!
We ate here mid-afternoon. The place is bright and has a really nice set up, not much atmosphere but it was only 1:30pm. We were seated near the partially open kitchen, but surprisingly left without that "restaurant smell" on our clothes. Our server Wayne came to our table within minutes of walking in, which we appreciated. He was super chill and really nice and we both noticed that right away. Just the ticket for a casual lunch. BBy back ribs were tender and properly sauced and were not greasy as some can be. Onion rings were exceptional if you like crispy breading and mild onion flavor. Can't say enough good things about the Fish and Chips. Haddock filets with again a great crunch with the breading. Our server was especially friendly without being too attentive. Just perfect.
