Housemade everything (Onion rings, mozz sticks w/marinara, fried pickles, Buffalo chicken rangoons, and stuffed mushrooms), and it was all delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, and the house rootbeer was great as well!
This is where the locals go for a good meal and fine libations. Always hopping. A local "Cheers". Pros: warm, woody, cozy, informal atmosphere with plenty of curio antique appointments on the walls. Family owned and run for 50 years. Great food and great value. Worth a special visit.

I was raised in Townsend and I've been around the area my whole life. In that time I've seen a lot of things change, but never the Townsend House. It's a great family restaurant with great food. We got there at 6:30 on a Saturday night, the place was pretty full, and they still made room for us. Food came quickly and everything was great.
