My wife and I travel 45 minutes each way just for their meatball subs which are THE BEST!! The best meatball subs we have EVER had!! The other day we were having that craving and for 45 minutes we talked about how awesome dinner was going to be. This place just opened, replacing the Subway that was in the same spot. Overall, we found the sandwich tasty, fresh and the staff was very friendly. Having just opened, they are still working out some things and training the employees. The main difference over Subway (which we were expecting when we walked into the store) is that you order and pay up front, and wait while they make your sandwich. One of the best sub sandwiches ever. My family and I stop here on our way to the Cape. The food is consistently great. The sub rolls are delicious and always fresh. We ordered the Original (ham and cheese) and chicken Parmesan. Both subs were delicious with ingredients that were fresh and superior. Amato’s is not a stand alone restaurant; it’s located inside a gas station. Don’t judge: it’s a hidden gem of a sub shop, and I highly recommend it.
