Purchased 5 boxes of Medjool dates with a best by date of 4/1/2024. I just opened a box to discover webs inside the sealed box!! Some boxes were given to friends which is highly embarrassing!! This is a health hazard. I contacted the company so hope that I'll be refunded in full!! Sometimes it's just not worth supporting businesses that lack quality control.

Probably the worst tasting Darjeeling tea. Company took no responsibility by offering to replace it with another variety and customer service was no use calling to give them any feedback.

Equal Exchange is a for-profit, Fairtrade worker-owned cooperative headquartered in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Equal Exchange distributes organic, gourmet coffee, tea, sugar, bananas, avocados, cocoa, and chocolate bars produced by farmer cooperatives in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.Their chocolate is so damn good!I definitely recommend trying any of their products. They are made with lots of love!

The dark chocolate bar 80% is pretty good. Not bad. The flavor and texture could both be Improved tho. It is not very creamy of a chocolate. Packaging is a nice touch.

My mom and I absolutely love Equal Exchange coffee! I purchased the decaf Breakfast Blend in 2 x 10 bags for her and I cannot wait to try Organic Cloudbreak from the Women in Coffee series!

I will NEVER trust Equal Exchange again! Since they REMOVED the listing for the 5lb bags of hazelnut beans, and BLOCKED THE REVIEW from being posted on the smaller hazelnut listing I'll post it here, so everyone can see. For almost a decade I purchased hazelnut creme (regular) beans in bulk, no different last Nov 2020. I can't even express how sickened I was to open & find it was not at all the same product I'd always purchased the same way, now stuck with 4 bulk bags ($170) gone to the trash. They've been trying to get rid of this flavor for a while, so they found a way to finally do it yet make me never purchase from them again. In the past I have bought in bulk and have gone WELL, WELL past the "best buy" date & it still had the same great taste. These were clearly bad from the get-go & didn't remotely look or smell like before. Not even going to bother contacting customer service just based on past interactions (before they discontinued the hazelnut, when it would appear then disappear from the store, then they'd hide the listing so you have to specifically search it, OR the time when they send one of the bags obviously slashed by a box cutter BEFORE packing and acted like I was scamming them, despite a decade of high-dollar purchases) it would be a waste of time. I'm registering my complaint here, with my wallet, and giving everyone the heads up of what can happen when you buy in bulk from this place. CLEARLY they've either changed beans or roaster (not to mention beans had zero flavor or smell they normally had, and TEXTURE when scooping them was VERY weird). Clearly they filled the bags with old crap beans (not even hazelnut by a stretch) just to get me to f-off already. Congrats, enjoy the degredation of a brand...(even more than social media already accomplished making coffee political & pretending they hate capitalism, despite their capitalist prices). THIS IS NOT the same coffee they've built their rep on, so don't even stock up, even if you THINK you love their coffee, it has obviously changed, and to state it is now UNDRINKABLE doesn't even express how bad it became. Off to the dump!

Update on 03/12: After contacting their customer service, I got a very nice reply asking to give them another chance, that maybe I had a bad batch. The told me they would ship me another bag of coffee of my choice, so I picked the Ethiopian whole beans version. It arrived quickly at my house and I am much more pleased with the outcome. They use a process that is unusual, leaving a very fruity flavor to the coffee, which is unusual (to me) but was actually quite enjoyable. I love this country (I was born somewhere else where you would be hard pressed to get this level of service). Customer service is really well understood, and what they did here saved my opinion of their brand. I complained, they listened and convinced me to give them a second chance. I may actually buy some more of their coffee now.

The organic hot cocoa is horrible. Not just a “little different” or “not my favorite,” but completely undrinkable!

The flavor is like no other. Smooth and Creamy Chocolate Bars with amazing chocolate flavor choices and cacao percentages. Something for everyone
