“I called this place reluctantly late last night because it was my only real option at 9:30 pm (they close by 10)….i had tried it years ago and didn’t think it was very good. Well, last night they proved themselves lol! I ordered house fried rice and bone in spare ribs. Not only did they serve me with a smile and seem happy to be there still, I’m sure it had been a long day..the food was piping hot and so fresh! I was definitely expecting less ten minutes prior to closing! The rice had a little of everything and was so good! The pork pieces weren’t all fatty trimmings like most places. This was actual chunks of pork with very little to no fat. Little shrimps and chicken…so so good. I couldn’t stop eating it. The ribs were cooked to perfection, meaty, and so tasty I was licking my fingers and the bones haha! Best ribs I’ve had anywhere! The price was good too! I will definitely be back!“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“We have a new office in Boston. So periodically I drive down from our main office to the Boston location and every time I do, I have resolved to try a new restaurant. This was today’s choice and it was SPECTACULAR! My server was fantastic. The food came out quickly and was insanely good. I didn’t know how big my stir-fried rice cake bowl would be so I ordered the sweet and sour pork loin to go with it. But the rice cake bowl was huge and tasted incredible. Lots of heat, lots of fresh prepared veggies and meat. 10/10 would recommend that dish. The pork tenderloin I tried and 10/10 would recommend it as well. The location is a bit small and that is literally the only nit I can pick. If you’re in this area, get some take out or eat in , you won’t regret it!!“

We were lucky and the pan fried dumplings were just coming out of the kitchen so they were piping hot - crispy outside, juicy and flavorful insides. The crab rangoon had a satisfying crunch on the outside, though the fold style isn't quite my personal preference — that said, the filling was flavorful and delicious, so it's a minor quibble. The flavors throughout were well-balanced, with nothing overpowering anything else.
The Egg Foo Young came with a deep, dark brown gravy that was rich and full of flavor. There was plenty of it, too, which I appreciated — I never felt like I was scraping the bottom. It's honestly some of the best Egg Foo Young I've had in a long time.
Now, the rice deserves a special mention. There's something noticeably different about it — in the best possible way. It was plump, moist, and well-seasoned without being salty or greasy. It had a quality and heartiness to it that you don't usually find at your average Chinese restaurant; none of that thin, quick-to-dry-out variety here. I could have eaten a bowl on its own.
This was my first time ordering, so maybe I just got lucky with a great dish — but something tells me this place is the real deal. Either way, I'll definitely be back, and I'd highly recommend giving them a try.“

“The woman who took my order over the phone knew exactly who I was when I walked in. She was so nice! My beef chow fun was ready in 5 minutes and is so fresh. I had to try it as soon as I got to the car because the smell was intoxicating. The portion size is out of this world and has all the things a dry beef chow fun should—sliced white onions, green scallions, bean sprouts and of course, wok heiiiii. 😍 Will be back to try more of their offerings, especially the roasted duck that you can see hanging; the beautiful aroma filled the shop. “One of the only places near Boston that serve authentic FJ (Fuzhounese) food. Service is slow as there’s one boss lady doing everything from cooking to cleaning so don’t come in expecting too much and be patient. My favorites here are the peanut noodles (ban mian), stir fry rice cakes (nian gao), and the wonton soup (bian rou). CASH ONLY so bring change.

Everything is priced very affordably, I believe the 3 dishes in the pic were around $20 total.“

“This place has some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time . Since moving to Holbrook this is my new go to spot for ordering take out or delivery. Today I ordered the General GAO’s Chicken combo plate w Beef Lo Mein , boneless spare ribs, and chicken fingers. Everything on that plate I give 10/10. It doesn’t get better with flavor and quality I had to tell my roommates about this place because I’m so impressed!!! Btw if you enjoy orange chicken you won’t be disappointed they even put fresh orange on the plate and the portions are huge. Great fried rice and all the appetizers are on point as well. I’m only taking one star off because we got the hunan chicken expecting it to be spicy, but it had no spice at all. It was comparable to the regular chicken & veg w/brown sauce. It tasted good but its not what i was expecting, since on the menu it was advertised as spicy.
Next time we order i think i will ask them to make our dishes extra spicy.

A little bummed out there was no fortune cookies as well, but that could have been a genuine mistake.
